Today, you can create and assign technical roles in Cloud Portal (Administrators and Site Creators) by accessing the Cloud Portal administration space under the Authorization tab. However, organization roles (as known as operation roles) are created in the HANA Cloud Platform cockpit from the portal application subscription view.
With the new release of Cloud Portal (scheduled for February 26) we intend to align all Cloud Portal roles creation and assignment to be fully carried out in the HANA Cloud Platform cockpit. In addition, the technical roles Administrator and Creator have now been combined into a single Administrator role, defined as TENANT_ADMIN in HANA Cloud Platform.
The Authorizations tab in Cloud Portal will be revised to accommodate these changes, including a direct link to the cockpit where you can manage all roles.
To assign a technical role:
- Open the HANA Cloud Platform cockpit.
- Select Services from the view on the left.
- In the HANA Cloud Portal entry, click Configure Roles.
- Assign the role of TENANT_ADMIN to one or more groups or individuals.
With this change, all existing Administrator and Creator roles from both trial and productive landscapes, will be automatically migrated to fit the new roles mechanism. More details can be found in the Cloud Portal online documentation.
