This is the first time that I am going to a d-Code event and I am really excited about it. The last time I went to a technical conference was the ‘Sun Tech Days’ during my second year in college and I had no idea what I was doing there. But I am sure that won’t be the case this time at d-Code.
I am looking forward to meet in person all the great folks that we meet in SCN every day.
- The Location: Las Vegas or Berlin? Las Vegas. Flying across the continent from East Coast to West Coast is lot cheaper than flying across the Pacific and off-course no visa hassles

Yeah, I know that’s a lot and nearly half of them are hands-on sessions but I am still working on an elaborate plan to fit everything in, drawing up the schedules etc.
I am looking forward to attending,
DMM270 Advanced Data Modeling in SAP HANA: When I saw the title for this session and the speaker henrique.pinto2 I was automatically drawn to it. Henrique has really good insights into the working of HANA engines and he has always provided thorough explanations and solutions in the HANA forums
DEV161 SQLScript – Push Code Down into SAP HANA to Achieve Maximum Performance: I haven’t used a lot of SQL in our current development but I am interested in finding out if anything I gain from this session can be used to improve the design or performance of our artifacts
EA161 Using SAP Predictive Analysis with SAP Business Warehouse and SAP HANA
EA163 Deep-Dive into SAP Lumira – Desktop, to Server, Cloud, or BI Platform
Both these tools I have used a little and I am looking forward to knowing more about these tools. Both Ingo Hilgefort and Tammy Powlas are well known in SCN and their documents and blogs always interest people. I am sure the sessions would be great
CJ608 Getting Started with SAP HANA Cloud Platform
CJ624 Getting Started with XS-Based Development
Both these topics I have followed keenly on Open SAP courses. I have been trying really hard to get a steady footing with the basics and JavaScript. I admire both the speakers Thomas Jung and Rui Nogueira for their style of taking a presentation through, with no slack and keeping the participants attention.
- What I am looking forward to the most: Everything! Since this is my first time I will poke my head into every available space that I am allowed into and get a feel of everything DemoJam, Hacker Night and I have signed up for the 5K too. If you see a person on all fours crawling towards the finish line, that’d be meJ. I used to do 500km cycling trips during my under-graduation years, but that was 10 years ago. Let’s see what’s left of that active guy.
- Advice for first timers: I have none. Since this is my first time I will take all the advice that I am bestowed upon.
Looking forward to meeting you at Vegas,
Benedict
