Please tell us about your session:
This session highlights an actual use case of leveraging the new modeling and data acquisition options available with SAP Business Warehouse 7.40 SP5. We briefly examine the evolution of LSA to LSA++ and then explain how using Open ODS views, operational data provisioning, and the new composite provider opens up creative ways of extending LSA++.
Please tell us about yourself:
My favorite hobby is running and actually my motto is the Latin phrase “Curro Ergo Sum” (I run therefore I am). After five marathons, I no longer run long distance, electing to “save my miles and knees” for continuing to run injury free and for a long time.
Circa 1997, a close friend working for SAP America overcame my resistance to a career in SAP with the argument that it’s a lot easier teaching SAP to folks with a solid business and process background than vice versa.
What do you hope attendees take away from your session?
I am hoping that attendees to my session walk away excited about SAP’s ongoing commitment to SAP Business Warehouse (“BW is not going away”) and new and creative ways for addressing some age-old pain points in the data warehousing area with BW 7.40.
