We had a session last week from SAP and another session from SAP customer Eli Lilly.  We also saw preview demos of Lumira 1.17.  The usual legal disclaimer applies that things in the future are subject to change.

One new term we learned is trusted data discovery which means the users can still do data discovery but governed by IT.  See http://www.news-sap.com/sap-empowers-users-trusted-data-discovery-advanced-insights/

The other item in this session was BusinessObjects Explorer was limited by Flash but Lumira is not.

Figure 3 is a new slide I haven't seen before on Lumira Server, which is available now.  It is native to HANA; this slide should explain why Lumira Server needs HANA.

Figure 4 is an updated slide of how Lumira is planned to work with BI4.  An add-on will come with BI4, allowing users to view Lumira on the BI Launchpad.

We also saw a demo of future functionality, showing "related visualizations" and "top influencers".

In another session, we saw how Lumira is being reviewed at a diverse company like Eli Lilly.

Lastly, one of the reasons I wrote this blog was to support Your mission, should you decide to accept it...marilyn.prattmission to blog about the event.  I hope others will share their experiences as well.
