I am happy to share to my experience over the last weekend (May 31 ), for the SAP CodeJam conducted by SAP at TCS, Hyderabad. I would name this experience of mine as a weekend blast.

The session started @11.00 AM, with great pomp and joy; initially it was a 30 min discussion about the overview of SAP BW Powered by HANA. Experts from SAP labs executed this campaign; all the attendees brought the laptops with the required perquisites installed. Once the credentials were assigned we all were set to go zoom.

SAP BW on HANA was an interesting and an anxious tag line that we have all been waiting for quite some time. With latest innovations in SAP HANA everyone knew what great can be done with this super fast HANA, but this Code Jam was the other way round on how great SAP BW serves as an integrated and undisturbed platform and leveraging the benefits of SAP HANA. This was no regular data provisioning or again any new innovation of data replication in SAP HANA. As I mentioned above it’s all about the SAP BW 7.4, we had some much to learn about the latest InfoProviders (Virtual, Transient and Composite) Queries being executed with SAP HANA as the database and again viewing the data with almost zero time latency in SAP BW, isn’t it cool? It would be more cool once we deep dive further and enrich this experience real time.

The enthusiasm in the participants was pitching so high that even announced for a lunch break; we all very busy completing the tasks. Added to this was the perfect blend of time and resources, so well designed that none of us had the glimpse of boredom during the weekend. We dispersed for lunch in groups. The lunch was organized in the TCS campus itself, we took a ride in that economical pollution free battery operated vehicle, watching the scenic beauty of the campus with surrounding lake view. It was just as if we were enjoying our holiday at our favorite destination. Like the big data, lunch contributed to the ‘S’ factors: ‘Sumptuous’, ‘Savory’ and ‘Sapid’. Ah we are back after the ‘S’ lunch to the session with loads of ignited energy and zeal. Worked for around 2 hrs and at 3.00 pm, and now it’s the beverage gala time with some snacks and snaps with team.

Around 5.00 Pm, now we are all done with the workshop and took some time over for some technical discussion and winded the session. SAP as ever has done a fantastic stuff and SAP Code Jam has proved in waving a path where the innovation and experience merge. With loads of information the last but no means the least, I would like to extend my hearty thanks to the SAP experts, TCS Management, Mahesh Kumar CV who rendered their valuable time & efforts and made this event a great endeavor.
