Excitement & Fun continued on the second day at booth#700 at SAPPHIRENOW, Orlando. This blog summarizes highlights of SAP Gateway for Microsoft, at SAPPHIRENOW.
Day 2 of SAPPHIRENOW of 2014 started with a keynote by Prof. Dr. Hasso Plattner joined on stage by Harvard Business School Prof. Clayton M. Christensen, well known for his theories on disruptive innovation, to discuss how SAP HANA is leading the renewal of enterprise applications.
2. Key topics that were covered today by SAP & Microsoft:
Sessions were focused on showcasing the partner joint solutions powered by SAP Gateway for Microsoft.
a. Demo Theater session: session ID#14955: Do Business anywhere with the latest solutions for the Mobile workforce
- Customers discovered exciting solutions that could add value to their everyday work. They were able to see what SAP and Microsoft are working on to help employees on the go work smarter and stay connected with devices powered by Windows 8 and Windows Phone 8. In addition, they also learnt about how to manage, secure, and connect these devices to business and collaboration services that can run on premise and in the cloud
b. Partner Theater Session ID#: 14952 :Run SAP Software, Databases, Platforms, and Workloads on Microsoft Azure.
- Microsoft presented how Microsoft Azure can empower customers and partners to run their SAP applications better. It was very informative session on how to use SAP software and technology, such as the SAP Business One application, SAP Business Suite software, and the SAP HANA platform, in a cost-effective way with minimal infrastructure, all in Microsoft Azure Cloud.
c. Partner Theater session ID#14950: Enhance Your Familiar Microsoft Environment with Access to Trusted Data Across the Enterprise
This session was focused on how SAP and Microsoft are innovating together to provide the next generation of interoperability solutions, allowing users to be more productive and leveraging enterprise IT investments. Customer learnt more about how SAP Gateway for Microsoft enables them to access to visualize and analyze SAP data through familiar Microsoft Office tools and across devices for business anywhere. Jenny Lundberg, our product director had lot of questions about SAP Gateway for Microsoft from interested customers.
Vivek Malhotra, from Microsoft Corporation explaning about the interoperability solutions of SAP Gateway for Microsoft. He presented how customers can easily access & update SAP data from Microsoft excel UI.
3. Partnership collaboration more fun & thrilling activities:Announced the winner of 2014 SAP Microsoft Unite Partner Connection innovation award to CGI- Global !!
CGI Global won the SAP and Microsoft Unite Partner Connection Innovation Award 2014. The winning solution uses SAP CS as back office, SAP Gateway and SAP Mobile Platform (SMP) as Mobile platform and Windows 8 tablet pro as mobile device. SAP Gateway and SMP are hosted in Azure Cloud to reduce the TCO and increase the uptime of the landscape. The solution reduced TCO for Enterprise Mobility solution for the Netherland railway company.

6. Capgemini presented great customer success story for Duet Enterprise. How to increase your productivity by quickly completing your invoice approvals.
Capgemini helped a top US oil & gas manufacturer went live with invoice approval with Duet Enterprise based on NetWeaver 7.40. The solution provides users an innovative, intuitive interface to real time SAP workflow data that allows users to view all contextual information and act on that workflow from a “single pane of glass” within Microsoft SharePoint. It provides the leading oil & gas supply chain users an easy, yet complete solution to approve vendor invoices from out in the field.
7. Fujitsu Americas showcased using the power of cloud services like office 365 to create and share beautiful reports
7. Gimmal , our partner showcased solutions built to customer of how SAP data can be now be connected to Office 365. Gimmal showing a document solution leveraging Microsoft Azure and Office 365 Cloud offerings in support of SAP ECM.

9. Expert Table: Demo Theater ID#TE306 Session was very helpful for audience who wanted to know more about SAP Gateway for Microsoft at Middleware expert table.
