The NFL Draft is one of the biggest events of the football season. As a multi-billion dollar business, decisions made on draft day – it actually extends over three days – have an immediate impact on players, teams, cities and fans. Players’ lives change forever. Appropriately dressed in suits, their fortunes are made when the commissioner calls their name. It’s a dream come true.

For the media and analysts the draft is a culmination of months of research, speculation and preparation. Millions of fans tune in to watch the draft, relying on the analysts to provide insights and to assure them that their team made the right pick.

Marshall Faulk, SAP Ambassador, Hall of Fame running back and analyst for the NFL Network, remembers his draft 20 years ago. He says, “Working in the media, nothing has changed [from being a player]. I still watch film. I’m still diving through papers of information. And, I want to make sure I’m as prepared.”

Working closely with Faulk, SAP developed the NFL Network Draft Tool on a tablet, which with a simple swipe of his finger allows him to easily sort through player information, including history, college accomplishments, NFL Combine information, etc. And, the tool provides player-to-player comparisons as well as insights into previous draft classes.

“When it’s time to talk about a player, I’m two touches and a swipe away from having all the information,” says Faulk.
