This is the third year that Fairfax Water has hosted the ASUG Virginia Chapter meeting and we invite you to join us May 2.  This year it is co-located with the ASUG SAP for Public Sector Special Interest Group.

Last year Fairfax Water hosted the ASUG Virginia Chapter meeting.  At first I thought attendance would be low - after all, Fairfax Water was substituting for a winery.  However the room filled up quickly and the day was great. This is a quick picture from last year:

Last year we had an impromptu (but very popular) tour of the water plant.  This year the ASUG Virginia Volunteers have included it in the agenda.

This year, the agenda includes cloud, SAP Personas, two SAP Solution Manager sessions, a public sector (U.S. Department of Agriculture) session on SAP Grantor Management, the Department of Defense shares their story on SAP testing and more.  Interestingly Oracle is presenting on SAP HANA and In-Memory Computing and is one of the Chapter Sponsors.

Separately I want to thank the ASUG Virginia Chapter volunteers who do this on their own time. They held an ASUG webcast last month where Rudy Hendricks, ASUG Board Member said “come to the ASUG Virginia Chapter meeting and we'll feed you well".  I will attest to that – the food is always great at ASUG Virginia Chapter meetings.

Here are the volunteers:

Here are their 2014 goals.

Last year they had a successful HANA workshop, and this year they want to collaborate more with the Special Interest Groups, hence the co-location with the Public Sector SIG for May 2nd.

I am quoting Rudy Hendricks in saying “Support your Local Chapter”  which is a takeoff of this great James Garner movie “Support your Local Sheriff

ASUG VA Chapter volunteer Keith Seckman shared this quote from last year’s meeting: "The Virginia ASUG chapter volunteers thank Fairfax Water for the hospitality. The facilities are great and the people are the best."

We welcome you to come to our facility May 2nd.  So listen to ASUG Board Member Rudy Hendricks when he says “Support your Local Chapter”

See you there?
