Last week was BI 2014 in Orlando, Florida.  With all the keynotes, education sessions, networking and show floor, it is hard to summarize in one blog post but I will share what I learned below.

First the show is co-located with Admin 2014, of which I only participated in the Solution Manager Jump Start (see SAP Insider Admin 2014 Solution Manager Jump Start - Part 1 - Key SAP Notes and SAP Insider Admin 2014 Solution Manager Jump Start Part 2 - Releases ).  I am not done posting notes but not sure when I will be able to get to it either.

Day 1 of BI 2014 started off with the keynote with SAP's steve.lucas2 which I covered BI 2014 Keynote Day 1 - Creating the Innovation Factory

Also demonstrated in the keynote was BI 2014 Keynote - World Premiere of Infographics with Lumira

Also on Day 1 I attended BI 2014 Design Studio and Dashboards - Looking to the Future where we learned that Dasbhoards is not end of life.

Day 2 was the BI 2014 Keynote General Assembly with SAP's jason.rose and Stephane Le Cam.  Jason discussed data challenges, user challenges, and how many users use a data warehouse.  He said in 2020, 75 percent will have access to Analytics; BI Scorecard cindi.howson said on twitter that there is a long way to go for adoption.

Jason asked when was the last time we had to finish typing a query to Google?  We have the same expectation for BI, to make it real time.  He also discussed governing information for data quality.

Stephane Le Cam also demonstrated going from an Analysis Office view to the BI Launchpad.  He also built a Lumira Infographic from scratch.

The other world premiere which Jason promised was Stephane demonstrated SAP BusinessObjects Lumira on the BI Launchpad with the ability to share and publish Lumira on the BI Launchpad.  This is not yet GA (neither are the Infographics).  SAP hinted this would be around the SAPPHIRE / ASUG Annual Conference timeframe.

This same day SAP had a BW 7.4 HANA Launch event.  I completely missed this as I was in other sessions.  Fortunately Diginomica has stories in their Youtube play list.

You can also watch Molson Coors discuss their experience here:

If you missed this like I did Molson Coors will share their experience on an ASUG webcast soon - see Molson Coors - New Approach to Data Warehousing with SAP BW 7.4 Powered by SAP HANA

Diginomica has an article on this Molson Coors talks BW on HANA

jon.reed interviews TekLink here:

TekLink makes HANA a business conversation, which is what it should be.  See more at Diginomica

I attended more sessions (I hope to have the write-ups later) but in the mean time see scenes from the conference below:
