Analytics

Let's start right off with the cool new stuff when it comes to Analytics in SAP S/4HANA. As you know, SAP Analytics Cloud has been embedded into SAP S/4HANA as of the 1911 release. Now, with 2002, we deliver two new dashboards.

Sourcing and Procurement - Purchasing Spend Dashboard

The first innovation that I would like to mention here is our new 'Purchasing Spend Dashboard' from the area of Sourcing and Procurement. This new app is designed for buyers seeking for insights on the purchasing spend details. In addition, you can use this dashboard to monitor and analyze various aspects of purchasing spends. The analyzed data is presented in a variety of graphs, such as bar charts, column charts, comparison charts, and tables on the tabs OverviewDetails, and Context.

Check out the following video to see how buyers can leverage this:

Further information on the Purchasing Spend Dashboard is available on SAP Help Portal.

Finance - Contract and Lease Management Dashboard

The second new dashboard is also from the Finance area, our 'Contract and Lease Management Dashboard' app. It provides an overview of the product portfolio to improve your reporting capabilities and you can use it to analyze your contract portfolio and get insights by drilling into different dimensions, such as company code and contract type.

Further information on the Contract and Lease Management Dashboard is available on SAP Help Portal.

Finance - Enhancement of Treasury Executive Dashboard

A new tab called 'Bank Relationship' has been added to the 'Treasury Executive Dashboard' app. Thanks to this, Treasury Risk Managers can get an overview of their banks and bank groups by different attributes, such as ratings, payment amounts, number of company codes and bank accounts. The corresponding scope item is called 'SAP S/4HANA Cloud Treasury Management Content with SAP Analytics Cloud (49P).

Further information on the Treasury Executive Dashboard is available on the SAP Help Portal.

Please note:

The Treasury Executive Dashboard story is also available in SAP Analytics Cloud. This means that based on the available CDS query views for Treasury Management, you also find the Treasury Executive Dashboard story as example content in the SAP Analytics Cloud solution.

Refresher: Adapting/Creating Dashboards with 'Manage KPI and Reports' App

Although this innovation was delivered with SAP S/4HANA 1911 already, it's worth to mention it again in the context of embedded analytics in SAP S/4HANA Cloud: Key users with the role of an Analytics Specialist can access the pre-built dashboards using the ‘Manage KPI and Reports’ App, copy the dashboards and customize them to increase efficiency and effectiveness of management decisions. This could be, for instance, switching a chart into a table, adding or removing dimensions & measures, adjusting colors or even adding additional data sources (CDS views) to the dashboard. In addition, you also create your own dashboards within the very same app.

Enterprise Search

As key technology for basic searches, Enterprise Search allows users to search all structured data (business objects) of a search model in SAP S/4HANA Cloud in a unified way and provides direct access to the associated applications and actions.

'Manage Search Models' App

In a tabular format, this app shows the technical details of all available CDS-based search models, regardless of whether they are currently in an active or an inactive status. In addition, it displays the respective artifacts, such as the underlying CDS views on which the search model is built, fields, ranking, relationship between the views, technical details of the search model, along with a preview of the search results.

With 2002, the search capabilities of the search solution have been enhanced. It is now possible for key users with the 'Administrator' role to adapt the search models delivered by SAP according to your needs. This means that you can now change the position of the response fields and the filter fields, as well as adapt the ranking of requests. For this reason, the app has been renamed from 'Display Enterprise Search Models' to 'Manage Search Models'.

In-App Extensibility

Extensibility Inventory

With this key user app, you can display all your existing extensibility items as well as the associations or dependencies between various extensibility items as well as the respective change history. It is especially helpful for troubleshooting in case of rework tasks, e.g. to check dependencies of your custom CDS views.

Let's assume that you have a custom CDS view and built another custom CDS view or query using this custom CDS view as a data source. If there are now rework tasks that require incompatible changes to this CDS view, e.g. if it has received additional access protection properties, which are not automatically inherited, all dependencies have to be resolved. Thanks to the 'Extensibility Inventory' app, you can analyze such dependencies by means of a graphical representation, the so called dependency tree.

Figure 5: Dependency tree of a custom CDS view in the 'Extensibility Inventory' app

The screenshot above shows an example of such a custom CDS view dependency tree. As of the 2002 release of SAP S/4HANA Cloud, it is possible to download dependencies by means of csv.file to your computer so that you can display it in Microsoft Excel.

Identity and Access Management

'IAM Key Figures' App

Also in the area of IAM, I have good news to spread. For Identity and Access Management, we offer a new analytical overview page which is called 'IAM Key Figures’. The beauty of this app is that it displays charts of all IAM-relevant information at one glance. It allows you to increase security in your area by providing direct access to critical situations e.g. locked users and at the same time helps reduce cost as it e.g. displays inactive business users which can be removed.

Figure 6: The 'IAM Key Figures' app displays charts of IAM-relevant information

For the charts in the app, you can define certain threshold values when it comes to the color coding of the bars in your charts (green: Accepted, yellow: Warning, red: Critical). Let's take the chart 'Last Logon of Business Users' as an example: Here, you could define the colors based on certain time frames and adjust the settings so that the bar indicating the number of business users that have never logged on to the system is shown in red.

In addition, the app provides drill-down capabilities: By clicking on the respective parts in the charts or by clicking on the respective entry in the legends, you can jump right into the respective underlying app to take immediate action. In this case, this is the 'Maintain business users' app where you can then e.g. delete business users which have been inactive for a certain time frame.

Update of IAM Change Overview

What I would also like to draw your attention to his the Update of the IAM Change Overview which was first introduced with SAP S/4HANA Cloud 1911. This overview contains all IAM-related changes that affect applications, business catalogs, business role templates, as well as restriction type assignments in the form of a central spreadsheet.

For SAP S/4HANA Cloud 2002, you can find this release-specific spreadsheet attached to SAP Note 2882363 Information published on SAP site - Identity and Access Management (IAM) Change Overview. You can download the Excel file from the Attachment section of the note.
