Integration to API Sources and SAP Systems
You can now use various API sources and SAP systems to consume them as actions in your business processes.
With Actions, you can streamline business processes by connecting various systems, reducing manual effort, and eliminating the need to switch between multiple applications. Specifically, you can now use the SAP Cloud Application Programming Model (CAP), ABAP RESTful Application Programming Model (RAP), and any SAP BTP destination when creating Action Projects. This new feature adds to the various supported sources for the creation of Actions, while making it easier to consume APIs following a destination-driven approach. Additionally, support for programming models enhances the consumption of API for different use cases leveraging the latest features and capabilities.
For documentation, see Managing Destinations for the Action Project, Create an Action Project, Using SAP Systems
New Pre-Built Content Packages
A new set of 21 content packages, 13 Business Content, and 8 Learning Content have been added to the Store recently. We have also made some fixes in the existing content packages.
These content packages are tailored to different lines of business such as IT, Sales, Services, Sourcing, Finance, and Procurement.
New Line-Of-Business Content Examples:
SAP SuccessFactors Use Cases:
- Create Permission Group
- Job Offers Approvals
- Creation and Approval of Job Requisition
- Creation and Approval of Mass Job Requisition
SAP S/4HANA Use Cases:
- Mass Creation of Maintenance Service Orders
- Ad hoc Subcontracting Purchase Requisition Creation
- Journal Entry Posting Approval
Without Excel Application Activities
The MS Excel Software Development Kit (SDK) has recently been updated with an interesting capability. The new “Without Excel Application Activities” are a specific group of functionalities within the MS Excel designed to operate independently of the Microsoft Excel application. This means you can utilize these activities without having the MS Excel application installed on your system. Since they do not rely on Microsoft technology to work with Excel files, they can be executed on various operating systems, including MacOS. To explore these activities further, see Without Excel Application Activities.
UPCOMING: SAP Build Process Automation for macOS
SAP Build Process Automation is set to launch its macOS version for Agent 3 in early 2024. Agent 3, a major progression towards a multi-platform architecture, is developed using Electron and NodeJS, supporting both Windows and macOS, with a Linux version currently in prototype. While macOS Agent 3 shares many features with its Windows counterpart, certain connectors specific to Windows are not available on macOS. This release aims to provide a consistent user experience across platforms, with macOS Agent 3 initially available to a select group of early adopter customers for field testing and feedback, and a broader release planned for 2024.

Hi Enkzhul
Great news, thank you for sharing wirh us, I have a question 🙂
Do you know if SAP Business One user can use Actions?
I ask because Service Layer (Restful API) don't work wirh Actions.
Thanks in advance.
Best regards,
Hi Erick,
did not use SAP Business One so far and I'm not an expert in, but if Business One has a RESTFul/OData API it should be possible to use with Actions.
regards
Thomas
Hi Thomas,
I already made a request to SAP to see this topic: https://influence.sap.com/sap/ino/#/idea/311258
I have done many tests with Actions and SAP Business One, with its API (Service Layer) and I have confirmed that until the requirement that I mentioned before is released, it will not be possible to use this functionality.
Also, I want to note, that previously the SAP Business One API was exposed through the API Hub, now SAP Business Accelerator Hub, but now not, this could be an option.
If you require any additional information, I am at your service to collaborate.
Kind regards
Erick
