SAP Cloud integration for data services -SAP IBP to SAP IBP
SAP Cloud Integration for data services supports SAP IBP to SAP IBP Integration. Starting with release 2209, using SAP IBP as source and target in the same dataflow is supported. This functionality is supported only for WebSocket RFC IBP datastore connections. To take advantage of this SAP IBP to SAP IBP functionality, we strongly recommend that you migrate your connection type to WebSocket RFC if you have not done so already.
For more information on switching from JDBC to Websocket RFC connection, refer to SAP IBP help documentation: Switching from JDBC to WebSocket RFC Connection
You will need the latest agent installed on-premise or on a VM machine in the cloud infrastructure. If you prefer to use an older version, it must be a version that was released within one year of the most recent release. SAP IBP WebSocket RFC connection to SAP IBP is established through the SAP Cloud Integration for data services agent.
For more information on SAP IBP datastore configuration parameters refer to SAP Help Documentation : SAP Integrated Business Planning via WebSocket RFC

Some common uses cases where SAP IBP can be used as both source and target with SAP Cloud Integration for data services.
- Master data to Master data: Master data integration from a planning area in source SAP IBP with target planning area which resides in another SAP IBP or in the same IBP instance.
- Calc Scenario to Time Series (Key figures): Copy key figure data within a planning area or between two planning areas.
- Master Data to Time Series (Key figures): Copy Master data to key figure data within same IBP instance and in the same planning area or with different SAP IBP instance
For demo on SAP IBP to IBP integration with SAP Cloud Integration for data services , view below webcast recording
SAP IBP also supports copy operators that allows copying master data and key figure data. If your usecase is to copy the master data within a planning area or key figures within a planning area or between two planning areas in the same IBP system and doesn’t need any complex transformation, you can use SAP IBP copy operators.
For more information on SAP IBP copy operators , refer to SAP IBP help documentation- Copying Data – Copy Operators
For the use cases that involve complex transformation and/or copying the master and key figure data between different IBP systems (e.g. Production to Development/Test), use SAP Cloud integration for data services for SAP IBP to SAP IBP integration.
Venkat - Any plans to add more datastore connectivity options like Snowflake, generic ODBC,JDBC connectivity? While its good to see integration for IBP to IBP, as an integration platform hope to see more options for the customers. There are influence requests also submitted for same.
Hello Ranjith , Thank you for submitting the influence requests , we review the requests and take action on it .
Hi Venkat,
We wanted to perform IBP SBX refresh using IBP-IBP scenario, where we will be copying IBP Production key figure data to IBP Sandbox key figures. I went through the webinar and as per demo showed in webinar, there is a way to achieve above requirement. I tried creating a Data store for IBP production instance in CI-DS SBX, but I was not able to add/select IBP production instance.
Does SAP need to do some setting so that data store with IBP Production instance can be created in CI-DS SBX environment?
