How to use dimension Currency in Manage Forms
For dimension “Currency”, please keep in mind the dimension currency is the transaction currency. Currency dimension can be used only with the Transaction Currency measure. It does not make sense to use it with other measures ( such as Group Currency).
We can illustrate this point by below examples:
There are some data in ACDOCU: TC= EUR and USD; LC=EUR; GC= USD
ACDOCU
1. If there is no currency dimension : LC TC GC would show data correctly based on ACDOCU table
Form 1
2. If you add dimension currency in the form design and empty value for LC and GC: there is no data for LC and GC
Form 2
3. If you add dimension currency in the form design and related currency value for LC and GC: There is wrong data for LC and GC
GC=1000, but it should be 5000 at total from above picture. The reason why you have this value is that you have currency is USD, which is transaction currency. More exactly, you display GC data with its related TC=USD. Please check below picture:
Form 3
ACDOCU 2
4. If you add dimension Currency in the form design and related currency value for LC and GC: There is wrong data for LC and GC
GC=4000, it should be 5000 at total from above picture. Because you have EUR currency, which is transaction currency. You display GC data with its related TC=EUR
If you have LC = USD, you will found the same wrong data.
Form 4
5. If you have Currency USD and EUR together, you can check it clear. USD and EUR only as Transaction currency filter
ACDOCU 3
Form 5
Anyway, Please keep in mind that Currency dimension can be used only with the Transaction Currency measure. A better name for this dimension would be Transaction Currency. Unfortunately, the name cannot be changed.
P.S. If the FS item does not have breakdown by Transaction Currency, the local currency amount / currency key is copied into the transaction currency amount / currency key.
