Why data modeling matters in SAP Analytics Cloud?

Modeling of data is so well integrated into everyday life that one hardly notices that changes in the original information are being used.

Nicknames or other alternative versions of an original designation are already a widespread possibility to adapt individual data, such as a name.

In the SAP Analytics Cloud, data models meet such requirements by offering the data in a “more usable” version. The best way to imagine these data models is as a framework into which data is loaded via a data connection, taking into account the framework structures or formats, and then used in the “optimized”, transformed state for further processing in various reporting options of the SAP Analytics Cloud.

This also explains the importance of the data model itself. Put simply, no output can be generated without a data model. Whether story, application or digital boardroom, which are usually not directly connected to the data source.

Data modeling and the creation of data models are therefore of central importance for the use and creation of current and future reports.
