How to gain global knowledge and proficiency in SAP solutions for the public cloud

SAP has a complete offer for the public cloud with S/4HANA Public Cloud and SAP Business ByDesign, complemented by the BTP platform that allows access to the extensibility, integration and intelligence applications of SAP

To acquire the necessary knowledge in these systems, which allow your team to work on implementation projects, there are different learning paths created by SAP.

SAP certifications allow us to ensure the correct assimilation of knowledge by our teams to participate in the implementation projects of these systems

There are several combinations of certifications that, depending on the profile of each person, can be carried out with the support of the available certification routes: CER001 (1 attempt), CER002 (2 attemps) or CER006 (6 attemps)

In my case, to obtain a global knowledge of these systems and technologies, I used a CER006, which allows 6 certification exam attempts, and can be used to take an exam in up to 6 different subjects (3 attempts for the same exam). I used it to perform the following certifications:

• To obtain the necessary knowledge to implement a SAP Business ByDesign system, the following certification:

1. SAP Certified Application Associate – SAP Business ByDesign Implementation Consultant

• To have knowledge that allows you to actively participate in the implementation of the SAP S/4HANA Cloud system, we have certifications in different areas, in my case I did these two:

2. SAP Certified Application Associate – SAP S/4HANA Cloud (public) – Sales Implementation
3. SAP Certified Application Associate – SAP S/4HANA Cloud, public edition – Professional Services

• If we want to deepen our knowledge of the SAP BTP platform, there are several alternatives, but if we want to focus on its functionalities to extend SAP cloud applications, we can carry out this certification, as was my case:

4. SAP Certified Development Associate – SAP BTP Extension Developer

• Finally, if we want to acquire the necessary training to work on SAP implementation projects, with the SAP Activate methodology, we will have to carry out these 2 certifications that will give us the title of “SAP Project Manager”:

5. SAP Certified Application Associate – SAP S/4HANA Cloud, public edition implementation with SAP Activate

6. SAP Certified Associate – SAP Activate Project Manager

During these days we have been able to attend the S/4HANA Cloud, public edition GLX course given in Barcelona, which allows partners to gain experiences in the system implementation process. The interaction with other consultants and with SAP specialists is undoubtedly of great value to all of us.
