SAP PaPM Cloud: What’s New as of 2023-06-12?
Hello Everyone! I am here again, elated to bring you another series of What’s New for highly anticipated features and enhancements in SAP Profitability and Performance Management Cloud (SAP PaPM Cloud)!
If you haven’t read the last blog posts from my colleagues, you can always revisit all the blog posts released via this tag https://blogs.sap.com/tag/PaPMCloudWhatsNew/ for easy reference.
Now, to the reason we’re all here, let’s get you into the latest developments delivered that you can now experience in your SAP PaPM Cloud tenant:
Modeling History
The Modeling History monitor has been made available and let me give you an overview to appreciate more about the latest enhancements.
To begin, this application enables you to trace and inspect the configuration changes to a model within an environment. This helps you to trace and audit who did what and when. The column User (GUID) which can also be found in the User Management Screen, provides the unique GUID of the user which can be used for identification of who performed the action.
Depending on the user authorizations, even historic versions of environments can be restored.
Modeling History captures a snapshot of the configuration (as a JSON file) only on the operations like “ACTIVATE”, “CHANGE”, “CREATE”, “DELETE”, “MANUAL” and “RETRIEVED”. Furthermore, it is now possible to restore the Deleted or Historized environment with the use of the “Restore” button.
In addition to that, the historized environment version can be restored in two ways:
- If the restore option “Restore by overwriting current version” is chosen, the restored environment will be in the node where the overwritten environment is placed.
- If the restore option “Restore to a new version” is chosen, the restore environment will be in the Main node.
Lastly, once the user deleted the environment, a ‘DELETE’ history type is logged and once it is selected in the modeling history list, the “Restore” button will be enabled that has only one option, “Restore environment version.”

Allowing multiple selections in system monitors using the checkboxes
A new enhancement was introduced that will allow the authorized users to select multiple data rows for bulk deletion and downloading of data to JSON files (depending on the availability of button options) in the following applications:
1. System > Comment Monitor
In the Comment Monitor screen, using the multiple selection feature will allow the user to delete the comment target in bulk and downloading of comment target to a JSON file.
2. System > Process Scheduler
In the Process Scheduler screen, using the multiple selection feature will allow the user to delete jobs in bulk.
Note: If there are multiple selected data rows, the + > Job from the button will be disabled as job creation by copying multiple process schedules is not allowed.
3. Administration > Team Management
In the Team Management screen, using the multiple selection feature will allow the user to delete teams in bulk.
4. Administration > User Management
Note: For User and Team Management: If there are multiple selected data rows, the Edit button will be disabled as bulk editing is not allowed.
5. Administration > Connection Management
In the Connection Management screen, using the multiple selection feature will allow the user to delete connections in bulk.
I sincerely hope this blog post gave you knowledge of the latest improvements in SAP PaPM Cloud and will find them convenient. Furthermore, feel free to share this with your colleagues. If you have questions, don’t hesitate to post them here SAP Community Questions section link

Hi Viswanath,
please have a look at the following links:
Please consider that SAP PaPM Cloud is a true SaaS application, therefore updates are released directly to SAP PaPM Cloud without needing any intervention. In other words, SAP PaPM Cloud will be always at the latest available version.
SAP PaPM Cloud is a completely different application, therefore you cannot upgrade from SAP PaPM OnPremise (OP) to PaPM Cloud directly. Nevertheless, if you get SAP PaPM Cloud licenses, you can migrate from SAP PaPM OP to Cloud: https://answers.sap.com/questions/13811948/migrate-from-papm-on-prem-to-papm-cloud.html
Most of the content and functionalities are released for both SAP PaPM OP and Cloud, with some exceptions. If you are on SAP PaPM OP, you can get the latest updates and fixes with SP23.
Hope it helps.
