SAP Business Technology Platform, Neo environment – Sunset Questions & Answers

Hi there,  

It has been close to three years since I wrote about our doubling down on the multi-cloud strategy for SAP BTP. 

As you may have read in Michael Ameling’s blog, we have decided that the
SAP BTP, Neo environment will be sunset on December 31, 2028. 

Michael also re-iterated, in line with our decision back in 2020, that the multi-cloud foundation for SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP) is the strategic focus going forward. 

We know that there will be questions about this from all of you who are using the Neo environment as of today: 

• What does this mean for my contracts? 
• How can I manage the migration? 
• What does SAP provide to help me move to multi-cloud? 

And I’m sure there will be many more. To address these questions and more, we have an FAQ that answers as many questions we can think of. We also add to the FAQ as more questions come up, or more information is released. 

While the sunset date is still 5 ½ years out, I recommend for you to read the FAQ and start mapping out your path forward with SAP BTP. If you have additional questions, please contact our migration experts.
