Dear Valued Customer,

In today's data-driven business landscape, harnessing the power of data is crucial for organizations to gain a competitive edge. SAP Business Technology Platform (SAP BTP) offers a comprehensive suite of tools and services to enable businesses to unlock the true potential of their data. In this blog, we will delve into the highlights the conference dedicated to exploring the capabilities of SAP BTP and Datasphere and how it empowers organizations to unleash the power of their business data.

The conference kicked off with Balaji Gaddam’s opening remarks, setting the tone for the sessions ahead. Balaji emphasized the importance of data as a strategic asset and how SAP BTP plays a pivotal role in leveraging this asset effectively. He highlighted the key areas where SAP MaxAttention helps organizations to transform their data landscape.

Haridas took the stage for a keynote session focused on the Business Data Fabric concept. He explored how SAP Datasphere, a comprehensive data service built on SAP BTP, empowers organizations to create a unified analytics layer for both SAP and non-SAP data. Haridas highlighted the following key points:

  1. Self-Service Access to Trusted Data: With SAP Datasphere, organizations can provide self-service access to trusted data, enabling agility and accelerating accurate decision-making processes. Users can access reliable data on-demand, empowering them to make data-driven decisions faster.

  2. Simplified Data Landscape: SAP Datasphere helps organizations reduce costs and technical debt by simplifying their data landscape. It maximizes current investments by leveraging existing data sources and infrastructure, enabling seamless integration, and eliminating the need for costly data integrations.

A customer perspective is presented by Hanesbrands, sharing their journey of adopting SAP BTP and SAP Datasphere. The session focused on how Hanesbrands transitioned from their legacy SAP BW environment to SAP Datasphere, in parallel with their SAP architecture transformation. Key highlights of this session include:

  1. Leveraging the Power of SAP Datasphere: Hanesbrands showcased how they utilized SAP Datasphere to achieve a unified analytics layer for their business. By leveraging the crucial features of Datasphere, they were able to consolidate and analyze their business data effectively, gaining valuable insights and driving operational excellence.

  2. Key Challenges and Next Steps: Hanesbrands discussed the challenges they faced during the transition to SAP Datasphere and highlights the steps they took to overcome them. They also shed light on their future to achieve a complete transition to Datasphere through the BW Bridge, ensuring a smooth and seamless migration process.

Next session by Brice and Vivek emphasized the advantages of having real-time data that is federated and integrated throughout the data architecture. It discussed how this unified approach enables business users, partners, and employees to make informed decisions based on reliable and up-to-date information. Furthermore, the session explored the lake house capabilities of SAP Datasphere and its integration with the partner ecosystem for processing large volumes of data. A use case demonstration was showcased to highlight the practical applications of these capabilities.

Last technical session of the day from Justin and Dan shifted the focus to self-service visualization and modeling using SAP Analytics Cloud and Datasphere. It highlighted how SAP Analytics Cloud empowers end users to explore and visualize data through self-service capabilities. Additionally, it delved into the role of Datasphere in enabling self-service modeling, allowing end users to contribute to a data self-service culture within a distributed data landscape. The session concludes with a use case demonstration of BW bridge, illustrating the practical implementation of these self-service functionalities.

Second day mainly focused on consuming data beyond analytics with the first session providing an overview of SAP's AI and Generative AI strategy, showcasing how AI is infused into SAP's applications. It explains how organizations can consume AI in SAP Datasphere/SAP HANA Cloud using the AI Core/Federated ML approach. The role of SAP MaxAttention in helping businesses define their AI strategy and roadmap is also highlighted. Use case demonstrations illustrated the practical implementation of the AI Core/Generative AI approach.
