SAP Secure Login Service for SAP GUI
I think we can all relate to the “age-old” password struggle. You don’t want it to be so long that it’s a pain to type in. But you also don’t want your account to be hacked because your password is weak…
The solution is pretty simple: single sign-on. This means you authenticate very securely, but you only do it once and then have access to all relevant applications, for a given period.
For all the SAP GUI users out there, we have just released a new cloud service that takes the single sign-on experience to the next level.
SAP Secure Login Service for SAP GUI relies on the capabilities of SAP Business Technology Platform and SAP Cloud Identity Services to integrate single sign-on for SAP GUI with cloud-based identity providers.
In the video, you’ll see how Identity Authentication Service is used for secure, multi-factor authentication, with a password as the first factor and a fingerprint as the second. You could also connect SAP Secure Login Service with your existing corporate identity provider to reuse its authentication features for SAP GUI.

With SAP Cloud Identity Services, you can manage the access to SAP BTP and your SAP cloud applications. When it comes to the access control of the SAP Cloud Identity admin console itself, there was a need for more flexibility.
For example, some SAP SuccessFactors customers have a demand for very specific user management control for their ‘blue collar worker’ scenarios.
Thanks to the new delegated administration feature, this is now possible! To support such scenarios, we introduced a policy-based authorization management concept with which authorizations can be granted on attribute level.
Now, an administrator can be granted access to only those user profiles – and those attributes - for which he or she is authorized.
Unifying Story and Analytic Application with the New Optimized Story Experience in SAP Analytics Cloud
Traditionally, Story was used for self-service dashboards and Analytic Application for more sophisticated, guided dashboard and planning applications. With the latest release of SAP Analytics Cloud that runs on SAP BTP, Story and Analytic Application are unified into one Optimized Story Experience with an integrated design time.
Whether you are building stories or analytic applications, you can use the new Optimized Story Experience, which integrates features in both stories and analytics designer. You can start with a story and then extend it with scripting, advanced widgets, and other developer capabilities.
Some of the features shown in the video include:
Adding a custom widget into Story, to enrich your visualization option
Applying a theme to Story to ensure the consistent look-and-feel of your stories within your company
Using the new responsive layout to build the optimized layout for different screen resolutions and mobile devices
Receiving notifications and emails for relevant data changes thanks to the new Data Change Insight capability
