Hi there,

The first half of the 2023 release of SuccessFactors Learning is here, and we have an exciting new set of enhancements to look forward to!

Let's take a closer look at some of the key features and enhancements that come with the SAP SuccessFactors 1H 2023 Release upgrade. So, let's dive in!

  1. Audit Information For Assessments: Much needed!! To meet compliance requirements from customers, Team SAP has added audit information for user-taken assessments. You can now create change audit reports that include create, update, and delete audit information for the following page:

    • Quizzes

    • Quiz Answer Choices

    • Quiz Questions

    • Quiz Objectives

    • Exam Settings

  • Enablement: Automatically On

  1. Competencies Tab Name Change to Attributes on Specific Learning Administration Pages: As part of the transition to Talent Intelligence Hub, the Competencies tab name is relabelled to “Attributes” for all users. The change is applied to specific pages that support adding multiple attribute types such as competencies and skills.

  • Enablement: Automatically On

  1. Removal of Free-Form Email Sender From Send Email Notification: SAP has removed the Free-form option from the Send email notification from field for the Send Email Notification Tool on the Application Administration page to enhance system security. If your environment was configured to use the Free-form option, it has been updated to the default Admin Must!!

  • Enablement: Automatically On

  1. Set Default Launch Mode When Importing Content: Administrators can now select the default value for the Default setting for launch mode when importing content setting. When online content is imported, the value for the Launch Mode option is automatically set. This has been one of the most requested globally, customers asked for this capability to help with consistency when importing online content, and SAP has listened!

  • Enablement: Customer Configured

  1. Virtual Class Indicator Available in Connector: Finally! We now have the ability to set the value for the Virtual Class Indicator using the Class connector. The Class connector template now includes IS_SCHED_VIRTUAL. Valid values for this field are Y and N. This displays as the Virtual Class Indicator field on the Class Details page. This enhancement will allow administrators to update the value for multiple classes at once.

  • Enablement: Automatically On

  1. Receive Reminders of Learning Assignments in Microsoft Teams: SAP has joined forces with Microsoft, and with each new release, we witness exciting innovations between the two. The first half of 2023 allows users to be able to receive learning assignment reminders within Microsoft Teams. This means that the SAP SuccessFactors app will send adaptive cards to its bot chat within Teams for the following occasions:

    • Employees have learning assignments due in the next 30 days.

    • Managers have a learning assignment to approve. On the cards, we can view details about the learning assignment or take quick actions of approving or declining.

SAP developed this feature to offer users prompt reminders of learning assignments and approvals in everyday business social scenarios. I was unable to test this, but I plan to do so shortly. Comment below if you did!

  • Enablement: Customer Configured

The changes I've highlighted here are just a small sample of what's included in the latest release. To discover the full range of enhancements across the application, I recommend checking out the "What's New Viewer" for a detailed release summary.
