After a successful German event in March 2023 the SAP Financials Forum reopened its doors again from April 24-26 running for the very first time in a virtual, half-day format broadcasted live from Walldorf, Germany. More than 100 participants from over 20 countries around the globe dialed in to learn more about the latest innovations in SAP Financials.
The program featured three half days offered in two alternative time slots providing more than 16 different expert talks, two customer presentations, insights into digital learning and opportunities to network with participants and SAP experts. Read more in this report.
An immersive experience at the beginning
The event was kicked off by the organizers Cem Uysal and Magnus Metzler live from SAP’s Immersive Experience Studio taking all participants on a virtual and entertaining journey to SAPs headquarter in Walldorf. After receiving a quick overview of the program all participants jumped over to the first expert talks.
A colourful bouquet of more than 16 expert talks
The core of the forum consists of several parallel lecture blocks, allowing participants to build their own agenda. SAP experts presented various hot topics from the SAP Financials area in 90-minute expert talks that combined theoretical overviews, system demos, and Q&A sessions. As the following overview shows, the event offered a particularly colorful mix of topics on the program.
Customers' view on SAP S/4HANA migration projects
What do customers experience when migrating to SAP S/4HANA in Finance? What challenges do they have to overcome and what tips can they give other customers? Oliver Kemler and Tobias Siglhofer from BMW Group and SAP consultants Carsten Klein and Marius Müller supporting a project at Bosch provided insights into SAP S/4HANA migration projects and answered numerous questions that came from the audience. Two very exciting insights from a customer’s perspective, which supplemented the presentations from SAP colleagues with an internal perspective.
Insights into Digital Learning at SAP
The way people learn in the corporate world is transforming into flexible and digitized offerings tailored to the role and needs of users. SAP Product Learning also aims at providing customers, partners and employees with tailored learning opportunities for their SAP solutions.
In this context, Timo Schuette, Head of SAP Product Learning CoE, kicked-off the third event day live from the Immersive Experience Studio with a strategy presentation about the flexible learning offerings at SAP, which are available free of charge by reaching the new learning platform (learning.sap.com).
Following this, Christoph Rendel, Anton Belousov, Robert Lehmann, and Marlies Pattison illustrated what these innovations mean for Finance, and highlighted the specific learning offerings that already exist on the platform and are yet to come.
“Meet the Expert” session
Particular attention was paid again to allowing enough room for open exchange and networking between participants and SAP experts by offering a “Meet the Expert” session of 30 minutes on Tuesday. All participants could join four different breakout sessions in which they could discuss open questions in more detail with the speakers. A great opportunity for all participants and speakers to exchange!
Overall, we look back on three informative days full of exciting learning opportunities and we’re already excited to welcoming interested learners again to the next SAP Financials Forum: Save the date for next year’s event taking place from April 22-24, 2024 (Appointment Blocker).
