Back to three years ago, I was very lucky to be selected for the SAP Academy for the Engineering Pilot cohort. Together with 43 peers across the world, we went through a phenomenal multi-dimensional transformation journey in the heart of Silicon Valley. The impact was profound and still guided me in my career.

This month is the 3-year graduation anniversary for our pilot cohort. In this article, I would like to share my personal reflection when looking back on this epic journey.

#SAPBeyondCode #ToInfinityandBeyond

Thank you SAP Academy for Engineering. Miss you all my friends!

Courage:

Be responsible and take ownership. Make proposals with First Principle Thinking. Have strong execution and commitment to delivery.

Trust in leaders, and insist on the right thing for customers and for the company.

Curiosity:

Continuous learning, forward-thinking, and growth mindset.

Keep trying, even though sometimes it did not lead to success for one single attempt.

Accept failure and learn from it. Listen to others, but trust in yourself

Compassion:

Customer obsession.

Keep the promise and earn the trust.

Embrace diversity and inclusion. It's about knowledge, not just language.

Community:

Build a community and grow together. Company success, team success, then personal success.

Be willing to share and help others.

Maintain the connection and earn the trust.

Code:

Remember where we are coming from, keep the root, and go beyond that.

Keep both technical and business acumen. Go deep-dive, make sense of things, and insist on high standards. Always think of automating things, generalizing the problem, and building standard solutions.
