Dear Community Members

I had a chance to present a session on Value Chain Analysis and Insights into End to End Intercompany Processes. It has always been a great experience participating in SAP Inside Track at Bengaluru, which I have been participating for some years now.

This year was the largest SIT ever anywhere in the world and it was interesting to meet so many passionate SAP Community members from Customers, Partners and SAP. The day started with a key note by our MD, Sindhu Gangadharan highlighting the importance of the event and why it is important to network and collaborate with peers, many of whom are customers, partners and SAP Employees. The key note also highlighted the coverage of the event on various topics.

My session specifically focused on how we are innovating on missing links to ensure complete visibility into end to end material and activity flows, which also results in certain innovations in financial and management accounting such as Group Valuation Ledger with consolidated Margins.

I showed how we are building the value chain today by recording the material and activity flow at each step of the end to end process. We also use the architectural framework provided by Universal Parallel Accounting (UPA) to record eliminated Revenue and Cost of Goods Sold (COGS) in the parallel ledger, consolidated margins. This enables the Group Accountant to have earlier visibility on Group Financials. I than had a chance to present one use case of Advanced Intercompany Sales Process, what has changed after the missing gaps were filled and how the new Group Valuation ledger (Parallel Ledger, Consolidated margins integrates with Group Reporting. We also talked about the future direction on how we want to take this further in future by simplifying the data structures between accounting and group accounting. This also included a demo on the Advanced Intercompany Process.

SIT Session on VCA and E2E Intercompany Process

I also throughly liked the sessions on Sustainability and Central Procurement.

I look forward to many more such events in future in Bengaluru.
