Non-stock materials in maintenance task lists

…Last but not least, non-stock components in maintenance task lists! It’s been a while since the development on this topic started, and it’s been even longer since the functionality has been requested, but this functionality is finally here. Well, actually it’s been already available with SAP S/4HANA 2022, but now it is here for Enhancement Package 8 for SAP ERP 6.0 as well.

You can now assign non-stock components to maintenance task lists, including components without a material master. These components are then copied to the maintenance order. You can now also create a maintenance task list out of a maintenance order with non-stock components, and the non-stock components are copied, too.

The new functionality is available with SAP Note 3301349 or with the upcoming support packages of Enhancement Package 8 for SAP ERP 6.0. The functionality is already available in SAP S/4HANA 2022 and newer releases. You can enable the new functionality in Enhancement Package 8 for SAP ERP 6.0 either by implementing the SAP Note or by installing the corresponding support packages, and switching on the business function Enterprise Asset Management Part 22 for the classical user interface and the business function Simplified Management of EAM Functions 20 for the simplified UIs.

We’d love to hear your thoughts on the new functionality, so please comment if you have any questions!

This development marks the end of SAP EAM Plant Maintenance (2016) influencing project. You can check out the previous developments in this blog post.
