Dear Valued Customer,

Transforming global supply chains into resilient and sustainable business networks, is one of the key challenges our customers world-wide are currently focusing on. Especially in times of crisis and strong global market dynamics, it is the ability to adapt and expand supply chain management solutions that is keeping the lights on for business-critical operations.

Our Workshop

For many customers the transformation is being perceived as the first step moving towards this vision. The customers facing and approaching this challenge can be roughly clustered into the two segments:

    • Customer transforming from ERP logistics solutions to SAP S/4HANA such as LE-WM

    • Customers transforming from business suite solutions to SAP S/4HANA such as SAP EWM 9.4, SAP EWM 9.5

The transformation path and corresponding transformation methodology and services is tailored based on the current warehouse management solution operated.

In our session we introduced the latest solution highlights, Roadmap and Transformation content of Extended Warehouse Management in SAP S/4HANA 2022 (see also SAP® Extended Warehouse Management in SAP S/4HANA 2022 – What’s New by Florian Kuchta). This includes standard solution capabilities available with SAP Migration Cockpit to support the efficient setup of a new Extended Warehouse Management on SAP S/4HANA system (see also SAP Note 2976757 - SAP S/4HANA Migration Cockpit: Central Note for Transfer Data Directly from SAP System - S...).

Additional to standard tools and content, SAP Premium Engagement is supporting both transformation paths, with planning, custom-code management and migration methodologies that can further help accelerating the transformation to EWM on SAP S/4HANA:

Selective Data Transition Planning Workshop (SPW): Analysis of the current system landscape, functionality and customer specific enhancements as well as impacts transforming to EWM on SAP S/4HANA (e.g. functional changes and restriction). Introduction to existing standard migration contents and SAP services supporting and executing migration activities. Definition of migration procedure incl. sequencing share of responsibility and estimated duration. The major deliverable will be system-level migration road map and a customer-tailored high-level milestone migration plan.

Intelligent Custom Code Management Analysis: Identify custom-code incompatible to SAP S/4HANA based on CCM tools with EWM specific checks on obsolete and changed data objects, structures and modularization units. Accelerate custom-code migration efficiency by utilizing tool-based system analysis.

Innovation Proof of Concept: Run Proof of Concept to verify migration of transactional data with SAP DMLT (Data Migration and Landscape Transformation) and adjust according to customer specifics. PoC can be viewed as “pre-project” to productive migration, due to re-use of contents. The SAP Premium Engagement team is focusing on transactional data migration incl. mapping, while the customer implementation team performs testing, custom-code adaptation, master data interface setup and distribution. Activities, goals, prerequisites and responsibilities for PoC on migration activities are defined before approach the proof of concept.
