Announcing the Water Track at the International SAP Conference for Utilities 2023

Gaining maturity, the  International SAP Conference for Utilities 2023 taking place next April 18th – 20th in Basel, Switzerland, is consolidating its purpose of being an international reference  forum for those interested in Energy and Supply customer use cases from across the world, insights from SAP executives and solution experts, inspiring advice and guidance from guest speakers and explore opportunities for networking.  On this purpose, this year event will be co-located with the Water and Wastewater Services industry  which will offer a dedicated pre-conference workshop (“Diving deep into smart water)” and a Water Track with Water customer cases while enabling exploring industry synergies with Energy peers with shared tracks (for asset management, sustainability, utilities core and s/4HANA,   keynotes, joint tracks, and a combined exhibition allowing extended networking.

The  Water Track at the pre-conference workshops will take advantage of the experience gained at the implementation of the Smart Water Platform: Diving deep into smart water: demo’s and technical background of an IoT platform for smart metering and water network related use cases, using Cloud4Energy, Predictive Asset Insight, Data Intelligence and much more. Water track at the conference will bring a keynote (Building the Smart Water Platform: Characteristics, Use Cases, and Benefits ) and four case studies:  two related with the Water Platform concept and the smart meter data management use case and two focusing in the CAPEX management to keep infrastructure resilience.

 

SAP Cloud for Energy Implementation at American Water

This presentation talks about American Water’s Meter Data Management System (MDMS) journey and key challenges. Our presenters will cover the main drivers and opportunities for Cloud for Energy implementation, as well as a high-level overview of Cloud for Energy along with the technical integration architecture of the current implementation. Project scope and future roadmap will also be discussed along with the technical benefits, expected future business benefits, challenges overcome, and lessons learned.

Smart Water Metering in Flanders: Lessons Learned in a Unique Pilot Case

For the installation of smart water meters, data transfer, and management, Pipa is part of a unique collaboration between three water companies and the grid manager for electricity and gas. Discover the advantages of such a collaboration, as well as key considerations when planning a similar project. At the core of this collaboration was a co-innovation with SAP on the Cloud for Energy and Smart Water Platform, to add specific functionalities needed in the water business. Pidpa developed a shared service center (meter operating center) for the new activities involved with smart water meters e.g., alarms, to deliver an improved service to their customers and better insights into their water use.

On occasion of our recent announced  partnership with Cooperleaf , Anglian Water will demonstrate how Cooperleaf helped to develop a value framework for investment decision-making incorporating key financial, service, and ESG factors. Additionally, will present their investment portfolio optimization to maximize value, achieve targets, respect constraints by integrating Cooperleaf’s Asset Investment Planning with SAP S/4HANA to close the loop between project planning and delivery.
