Dear Utilities Fans,

In case you haven't noticed, this year's International SAP Conference for Utilities will take place live in Basel in beautiful Switzerland from April 18-20, 2023. We are holding this event together with our colleagues from the Oil & Gas industry as we successfully did in 2019 in Milan.

We have been working for months on a great program with new and different formats. I am sure that there will be something for all needs to get new ideas on how companies can equip themselves well for the future.

In this blog post we will keep you up to date with the highlights we have in store for you. Watch the following video to understand the conference agenda and the different sessions to empower you for the energy transition.

What can you expect during the three days in Basel?

We will start with a Pre-Conference Day on Tuesday, April 18, 2023

Our pre-conference day is designed for those who want to gain a deeper understanding of specific SAP solutions before the main conference. You will have the opportunity to interact with SAP experts, watch product demos, and hear from other companies in your industry how they deal with similar challenges.

In the afternoon, we are offering a brand-new fresh format, our Open Door Sessions. Pre-Conference Day attendees will have the option to pick-and-choose the sessions they would like to attend on the day spontaneously:

The first day of the conference will start on April 19. You will be welcomed by our Global VP's of the Industry Business Units Utilities and Oil & Gas, followed by an inspiring keynote from a very successful German hockey player. Janne Müller-Wieland has won three Olympics and is Co-Founder of Unthink, a company who creates learning experiences for leaders and organizations. After a customer panel with Janne and Peter Maier from SAP, the morning will divide into a utilities and energy/Oil&Gas part where you will gain insights about your industry.

During the afternoon, you can chose from different tracks such as Sustainability, SAP Utilities Core, Asset Management, Energy Transition, and Renewable Power Generation.

On Thursday, April 20, we will continue with the second conference day.

After a welcome by Daniela and Benjamin, we are delighted to hear Emily Penn, an Ocean Advocate and Skipper in her keynote about "Shifting to Zero". She has spent the last decade exploring plastic pollution from the tropics to the Arctic. After a customer panel about sustainability, we offer track sessions on customer experience, water and sustainability topics. Watch the video with Emily Penn and Christian Klein to get an idea of her keynote.

This year we will again have our popular Round Table Sessions where everyone can take part into the discussion on topics such as E-Mobility, Industry Cloud, Energy Communities, and more.

The best way to learn is from other energy companies. We are delighted to welcome the following companies in Basel speaking about their experience with SAP:

I am happy to welcome you in the heart of our conference, the Exhibition.

You can meet our partners/sponsor during the breaks there and listen to short microforum sessions about their solutions complementing our solution portfolio.

At the SAP booth, our Utilities team will show you solution demos, connect you with experts, and try to answer all your open questions. We have prepared more highlights, we will share later on. In my blog post, I have listed some of the solutions demo you can experience at our exhibtion.

Stay tuned for more updates and follow this blog post! I am looking forward to meeting you in Basel!
