SAP Fiori for SAP S/4HANA – Spaces and Pages now listed in the SAP Fiori apps library
TL;DR: Fiori launchpad layouts in current SAP S/4HANA systems are based on the spaces and pages layout mode. Spaces and pages are now listed against related apps in the SAP Fiori apps reference library. Making it easier to figure out which apps appear on the same page or space (set of pages) for a specific business role. You can search on the space or page id and description in multiple languages. Aggregation of content by spaces and pages is in planning for a future release.
Latest Updates:
- January 2023 – Please note that spaces and pages are listed for the SAP S/4HANA 2022 release. However most of these are also available for the 2021 release and some are available for the 2020 release. FAQ section updated.
Example of spaces and pages as shown in app details in the SAP Fiori apps library
First a brief history of SAP Fiori launchpad layouts:
- April 2020 – Spaces and pages were introduced in SAP S/4HANA Cloud 2005 and SAP S/4HANA 2020. Refer to Further step of SAP Fiori 3 available: Spaces and Pages
- February 2021 – official Recommendations for structuring roles, spaces, and pages based on common user behaviours is released
- Groups-based Home Page officially deprecated as of SAP S/4HANA 2021 FPS01 – refer to SAP Fiori Launchpad: Home Page Deprecated
- August 2022 – Spaces and pages announced as the foundation of the New My Home Page in SAP S/4HANA Cloud.
Since spaces and pages were introduced in SAP S/4HANA 2020 we have frequently been asked to make the relationship between apps and their spaces/pages available in SAP Fiori apps reference library. This feature is now live from SAP S/4HANA 2022.
IMPORTANT: While spaces and pages are listed for SAP S/4HANA 2022, most of these spaces and pages are also available in SAP S/4HANA 2021 and some are available in SAP S/4HANA 2020. You can cross check what is available in your SAP S/4HANA release in the apps F4384 Manage Launchpad Spaces and F4512 Manage Launchpad Pages.
You can now:
- For each app, view which space and page the app is assigned in the Implementation Information tab
- Search for apps by space id, space description, page id, or page description
What’s still coming:
- Aggregation of apps library content by spaces and pages is currently in planning.
Where to find spaces and pages in the Apps Library
You will find the space and page details of an app listed on the Implementation Information tab in the Configuration section.
For example for the app F6506 My Credit Card Transactions for business role Employee – Travel Info, search for the app, go to the Implementation Information tab and expand the configuration section.

How to match this information to what is in your SAP S/4HANA system
You can find all the SAP delivered spaces in the app F4384 Manage Launchpad Spaces and all the SAP delivered pages in the app F4512 Manage Launchpad Pages.
These apps are assigned to the Fiori Administrator role generated by the task list SAP_FIORI_FOUNDATION_S4. By default, the role is named Z_FIORI_FOUNDATION_ADMIN. Refer to
SAP Fiori for SAP S/4HANA – Activate SAP Fiori in 1 day or less – the video playlist and FAQ. A user assigned to this role is granted the main launchpad and content layout tools, including the Launchpad App Manager, Launchpad Content Manager (cross-client), Manage Launchpad Spaces, and Manage Launchpad Pages.

FAQ
We are currently using groups. Is there any advice and/or migration tool to help us move to spaces and pages?
Yes! From SAP S/4HANA 2021, the tool Create Launchpad Pages from Groups has been made available. Refer to:
- SAP Fiori for SAP S/4HANA – Migrating from groups to spaces and pages – Why, When, and Key Differences for Users
- SAP Fiori for SAP S/4HANA – How to migrate from groups to spaces and pages
Can apps appear on multiple spaces or pages?
Yes. In this case all the spaces and pages are listed.
For example, app F0348A Purchase Order (version 2) is used many roles. So all the spaces and pages are listed
App F0348A Purchase Order (version 2) is assigned to several spaces and several pages
Are classic UIs included on spaces and pages?
Yes this can happen where classic UIs (SAP GUI transactions, ABAP Web Dynpro applications, Web Client UIs) are used to supplement SAP Fiori apps.
For example the Commercial Project Management space SAP_CPD_SP_PROJECTMGR_OVR for the business role Project Manager (Commercial Project Management) includes a number of classic UIs such as the ABAP Web Dynpro application Create Change Request.
Web Dynpro Create Change Request is found when searching
Why is there no space or page listed for an app?
Only the most important apps for starting new tasks appear on launchpad layouts. This keeps business users focussed on the main tasks they need to do each day.
Apps that are a subsequent or optional step in completing the task are typically available by navigation from another app. This lets users follow their train of thought when completing a task – there is no need to jump back and forth to the launchpad. For example, apps may be reached via a button or a link or a list of links dialog.
There are also many reuse apps – apps that are used as common components of multiple apps. So they are never launched directly, they are only launched as part of another app.
For example app F5324 Mass Change of Sales Documents – Reuse Component has no space or page.
For apps that do not appear on a space or page, it is advisable to check the Related Apps tab, to check for nominated entry points.

Can I view a page without being assigned the role?
Yes you can do this in app F4512 Manage Launchpad Spaces in SAP S/4HANA 2021 and higher.
Simply find the page in the Predefined tab, and select it. You can view the page content on the Page Content tab. Notice the Page Preview option.
Example of page content as shown in the app F4512 Manage Launchpad Pages – the Page Preview button in the top right-hand corner is highlighted
How do I check what a page will look like when assigned to a custom business role?
It can be convenient to reuse SAP delivered pages in your custom business roles. If you have assigned a custom business role to a page, but have removed some of the apps from your custom business role – e.g. using the Launchpad Content Manager – then the unavailable apps will be automatically hidden from the business user. There is a quick and easy way to cross check the impact of your changes as you refine your custom business roles.
Within the app F4512 Manage Launchpad Pages you can select the page, go to the Page Preview, and select the Select Role Context button to refine the context. This lets you preview the page for that role only so you can check if any of the apps on the page will be hidden.
Example of Page Preview of a page with a highlight on the Role Context button in the top-right hand corner
Just select which role you want to review in the Role Context dialog and the Page Preview will be shown for that role only.
Example of the role context dialog – a SAP business role and a custom business role are assigned to the page
I want to use a page as-is but the tile text or icons are confusing for my users. Is there an easy way to adapt the tile?
Yes, from SAP S/4HANA 2022 you can now use the new adaptation mode in the Launchpad App Manager to adjust tile texts, icons, and keywords. Refer to: SAP Fiori Launchpad: New Fast and Easy Option to Adapt SAP-delivered Launchpad Content (for On-Premise and Cloud, Private Edition)
For what SAP S/4HANA releases are spaces and pages available?
While spaces and pages are listed in the SAP Fiori apps library for SAP S/4HANA 2022, most of these spaces and pages are also available in SAP S/4HANA 2021 and some are available in SAP S/4HANA 2020.
Why are spaces and pages only listed for SAP S/4HANA 2022? To ensure the information was accurate a new extraction routine had to be introduced for SAP S/4HANA 2022 and higher releases.
If you are using SAP S/4HANA 2021 or SAP S/4HANA 2020, you are likely to find the space/page names for many roles are the same in those releases.
You can cross check what is delivered in your SAP S/4HANA release in the apps F4384 Manage Launchpad Spaces and F4512 Manage Launchpad Pages.

Hi Jocelyn Dart
An excellent blog, like always.
This is indeed a great feature addition to the library. I couldn't resist to check it out and I already found something that might need your attention. The space and page info is not available in the List View, which means also missing in the CSV export. It would be nice to have it there too.
The same goes for the ODataV4 service groups. They are available in the Detail view (under configuration), but not in the List view and the CSV export.
Looking forward to your next update on this topic.
Regards,
Bharat Bajaj
Hi Bharat, I've passed on your suggestion to the product owner. I know there are a few more features they want to incorporate so hopefully these are already in or can be added to the backlog.
Thanks Jocelyn. Appreciate it. 🙂
Hi Bharat, Pages, and spaces are available in the SAP Fiori apps reference library list view and in downloaded excel from the list view.
Hey Soumyadeep Dasgupta
That's great to know. Thanks for sharing this update.👍
Regards,
Bharat Bajaj
HI Jocelyn,
Looks like Spaces and Pages section is only showing for the SAP S/4HANA 2022 version, Manage Purchase Orders (Version 2) does not have any spaces and pages section in the SAP S/4HANA 2021 FPS01, but spaces and pages are applicable in the 2021 FPS01 version.
Thanks,
Gopi.
Thanks for noticing Gopi! Yes that is correct. I will update the blog to reflect that. Generally speaking the Spaces and Pages are likely to exist with the same name in 2021. Some will also exist in 2020 - but there were far fewer delivered in that release.
Hi Jocelyn,
Concerning the point "I want to use a page as-is but the tile text or icons are confusing for my users. Is there an easy way to adapt the tile?", before 2022 release, it were possible to "adapt" the icon, text, etc...but we were faced to a "warning message" (dereferencing). But with 2022, we can change and adapt too BUT we must always translate the add-ons text for example and so on so as all users see in their language the correct translation.
So what is the improvement ? with 2022, that means if we "adapt" some fields, the "deferencing" is not exist anymore and we don't loose the "link" with the STANDARD Catalog ?
Thanks.
Christophe
Hello @Jocelyn,
we are currently implementing a system in the service area based on S/4HANA 2021 FPS2. We noticed that most of the spaces and pages that are listed for apps for the 2022 release are not existent in 2021 FPS2 in the SAP System.
Example: App F3571A (Manage Service Orders 2) is assigned to Space SAP_BR_CUSTOMER_SRVC_MGR in 2022, but in 2021 FPS2 this space does not exist in the SAP System.
Is there a way to downport SAP defined spaces and pages that exist in 2022 to 2021? It creates a lot of additional effort for new implementations with pages and spaces when the standard pages and spaces are not delivered in the system. And we would really like to not do the rollout based on groups.
One additional thing I noticed:
Looking at the names of spaces and pages the App F3571A is assigned to in 2022 I really wonder, why they did not follow the naming conventions of other modules?
The space called "SAP_BR_CUSTOMER_SRVC_MGR": _BR_ is usually a business role, it should be something like SAP_MODULE_SP_... instead. And the page is called SAP_S4CRM_PGT_SRVC_MGR_PC instead of just _PG_ like other spaces (e.g. SAP_S4CRM_PG_REPA_PLAN)
And finally, look at page SAP_S4CRM_PGT_SRVC_MGR_PC and that it is a page in space SAP_BR_CUSTOMER_SRVC_MGR: They both have the same title "Service Management", so we can only hope that there will only be one page in this space so that the users do not get the "Service Management" listed twice for space and page.
To me it looks like the one who created this did not really read the best practices for pages and spaces und their naming conventions.
Cheers,
Markus
