Introducing SAP Service and Asset Manager for Windows

We are happy to announce the general availability of the SAP Service and Asset Manager application for Windows. This 1.0 release represents a major milestone, fulfilling a long-time promise to our customers committed to the Windows platform.

Our team has worked for more than a year to develop the Mobile Development Kit for Windows, the framework that powers the SAP Service and Asset Manager application, and this is the first native Windows application developed using the cross-platform MDK.

This has been a true collaboration between design and engineering colleagues within our team and across SAP; working in parallel to design the first version of Fiori for Windows while implementing the native Windows components with an SAP look and experience.

We are pleased to share it with you.

Key details

This version 1.0 release of SAP Service and Asset Manager is based on the 2205 feature set and metadata from the principal release and supports standard business processes for the maintenance technician persona.

• Supervisor mode and crew management


• Functional location and equipment (view, install and dismantle)


• Measurement reading


• Time sheet and PM confirmation


• Material management (goods issue and return)


• Attachments


• Inspection rounds


• Full offline support


• SAP Fiori Horizon theme (light and dark)

Several features and controls, such as map, barcode scanning and analytic charts, are not supported in the initial release.

Note that our team is already working on the next release with the goal to implement missing components and features.
