ABAPConf & ABAPvent Calendar

#Devtoberfest is over, ABAPConf and ABAPvent Calendar are to come.

ABAPConf

If you haven’t heard about the ABAPConf that is taking place online, then you should quickly block Wednesday, December 7th 2022 in your calendar. The event is organized by Sören Schlegel, Tobias Hofmann, Johann Fößleitner and Dominik Bigl.

You will find the agenda here. The sessions will be in german or english.

If you are interested in the recorded sessions of the first ABAPConf in 2021, you can watch them on Youtube.

ABAPvent Calendar

This year I decided quite spontaneously to create an advent calendar with topics about ABAP, fun and general programming. There are a lot of things that I forgot about in the past so that I would like to bring them in mind again. There will also be posts about recurring issues or topics where I think that they are important, funny or often help me with my problems.

You will find the ABAPvent calendar here: https://abapventcalendar.com

Enjoy the advent season and stay safe and healthy

🎄⛄

Best regards

Enno

PS: If you are interested in helping me with a door about a topic of your choice, then I would be glad to hearing from you!

This is amazing.   I went there, and couldn't believe all the cool sessions!   The developer in me is jumping up and down.   Yes, I live in a different time zone.  But there are sessions in English and I think I'm going to wait until 3 AM CST to start.

So what's my list so far?

      • ABAP Quickfixes for S4/HANA Conversions
      • ABAP File Formats by Albert Mink and Lars Hvam
      • Tweaking ABAP (aka ABAP enhancer)
      • Develop cloud-ready custom code with Embedded Steampunk on-premise
      • Clean Core Strategy for WRICEF developments
      • Meet the speakers
      • RAP Troubleshooting - ABAP Cross Trace introduction
      • 4 abapGit Use Cases That Will Blow Your Mind (and gCTS won’t help a bit)

As you can tell these guys live in the real world!  I see some things on that list that I can use today!   I haven't been to any of these.   I just read about it somewhere and followed the links.   With the people involved in it - I'm thinking it will be awesome!

      From the event page:
"The event is about the programming language ABAP from SAP and how to use it in projects. It is an event for developers working with ABAP."

And in the community groups section there is a discussion.  And please take the time to look at all the groups.   SAP Community Events is one of many that are worth "hanging out" in.

The frantic jumping was also my reaction last year 🙂

I was like, hey, that's neat!

      Hi Michelle,

no need really to stay awake until 3 AM CST as all the sessions will be available on Youtube afterwards. The ones from 2021 can all still be watched as well.

Due to another committment, I'll miss all the morning sessions but plan to watch the ones I'm interested in later.

      Cheers

      Bärbel

Cool.   I'll still probably get up a little early - yes I am a normal early riser.   My husband can feed the horses.  (He does it most of the time anyway 😉

My reason is simple.  If I don't do it while it is live, I tend to not have the time later.   If I tell my boss it is virtual one day - I get the time to watch it.

Of course this time it's a bit different.   But I've been known to go to 24 hour ones and only get sleep here and there.   And honestly this one sounds so cool - I have to go see it.   Then maybe if I'm in the mood to stay up, I'll catch the ones from 2021 - after this is done.

And it's a wrap!!!  This was an amazing conference.    <sigh> Someday I'll write a blog about what jumped out at me.   In the meantime keep a look out for the recorded sessions on youtube.   All of them are well worth your time.

In the meantime, you might want to check out some cool Eclipse plugins.  Somehow I completely missed this.   Enjoy!

It was a long day even in the same timezone, how was it for you?
