Partners in Latin America experienced their first Hack2Build in Spanish, themed on SAP Business Technology Platform fast adoption for SME use cases.

Recently, partners from the Latin America and the Caribbean Region (LAC) came together to experience SAP Business Technology Platform (SAP BTP) extensions and integrations for SAP’s Small and Midsize Enterprise (SME) solutions: SAP S/4HANA Cloud, SAP Business One and/or SAP Business ByDesign.

Through this Hack2Build initiative, run by SAP Co-Innovation Lab’s (COIL), partners could realize how quickly SAP BTP can be leveraged to add value to their cloud journey and serve as the platform for them to offer their applications to customers.

It was also wonderful for the LAC partners to experience the complete event in Spanish, as all teams supporting the event were able to speak their native language.

Twelve partners built and showcased their innovative prototypes in just one week, with the support from SAP BTP Solution Architects from Partner Solution Adoption. The solutions were presented to a panel of judges made of SAP senior executives from the Partner Ecosystem and SME.

Beyond a Hackathon

The intent of a Hack2Build event is to help our partners build their solution. The move to the next BUILD phase is critical for the partners to drive successful outcome with their innovations. Most of the partners plan to continue with their development and bring their solutions to customers as soon as possible.

Kick-Off

On the first day, we had executive sessions inspiring our partners to build solutions for the SME customers, followed by deep-dive sessions from SAP Experts.

Carolina Bastos, Head of Partner Innovation and Transformation LAC, opened the keynotes with a warm welcome and inspiring message. Then, João Cavalcanti, Head of SAP Partner Solution Adoption LAC, presented the relevance of SAP BTP for SME partners. Steve Gouveia, Global Business Development Manager, followed with the advantages of partners developing their own IP. Rodrigo Riveros, SAP BTP Ecosystem Enablement & Execution Lead LAC, explored the SAP BTP Enablement Toolkit for Partners. Finally, Raphael Claro, SSP Manager for Americas, presented the product strategy for SAP BTP & SAP S/4HANA Cloud.

The keynotes were followed by a deep-dive session presented by Alessandro Biagi, SAP BTP Solution Architect, and Thiago Mendes, SAP BTP Solution Architect, about process automation and integration in SAP Business One with SAP BTP. To close the first day of the event, Lucas Rigo, SAP Co-Innovation Lab Specialist, overviewed the broad offerings of SAP BTP and shared handful resources for partners to develop their prototype.
