With the 22.02 release upgrade, some SAP Business Bydesign customers can exchange their electronic invoice via Peppol e-Delivery network. This functionality is valid only for Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Germany, Sweden and Norway as of 22.02 release. For other countries, this functionality is not available. As the Peppol network is growing we developed a solution in Estonia for countries that are not supported. The project was partly funded by the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Communications and also Estonian Business and Innovation Agency.
As the SAP Business Bydesign does not support actions needed for developing this solution, we used a standard Integration Flow in SAP Integration Suite.
What is used?
What we created?
We created a flow where in the Invoice release, the ByDesign system sends out the XML of the Invoice to Integration flow including the parameters needed for PEPPOL e-invoice.
In the flow, the Invoice message is modified and mapped to meet the standards of PEPPOL BIS Invoice v3. An invoice XML is created in the process and is sent back to the ByDesign custom object where all the incoming and outgoing invoices are listed, and their statuses can be monitored. We also designed the solution to be as seamless as possible for the end user. After a quick setup, the e-invoices would be released as regular invoices by clicking "Release".
The customer can then choose what to do with the invoices - send them to the service provider for PEPPOL or upload the PEPPOL XML somewhere else

As You can see, there are many advantages to start using e-invoicing. Of course, every company has different needs and specifications for e-invoicing but overall, this standard solution can be done with relatively low cost.
