Release Highlights

Dashboard and Story Design

Optimized Story Experience Update

In this release, the additional features are available within the Optimized Design Experience (ODE):

  • Support Thresholds in Tables for UAM Models

  • Story Preference Settings

To learn more about Optimized Story Experience, check out this blog post.

Support Thresholds in Tables for UAM Models

Thresholds are now supported in Tables for UAM models in the Optimized Design Experience. Users can apply thresholds to secondary measures, single cells or multiple cells across a row or column and are supported by tables with Multiple Account Hierarchies and Cross Calculations.

Note that thresholds need to be defined for either account or measure, but not a combination of the two. This means thresholds can be added to multiple cells, but cannot be added for both multiple accounts and multiple measures at the same time. Thresholds on a measure with multiple accounts can only be defined via the table.

Story Preferences Support

With this wave, story preferences are now supported with widgets such as charts, tables, geo maps, and input controls. Story preferences provide value by giving users to ability to customize borders, colour, fonts, and other styling options in the Optimized Design Experience (ODE):

  • New Chart Palettes and Color Swatches are added into the Color Picker to stay aligned with Fiori Horizon color guidelines

  • Customization in the Styling panel overrides Story Preferences, except for fonts and color palettes

  • The choice to apply story preferences to all or new pages/lanes/tiles is removed to stay aligned with Theme Preferences

Please note that changes are not yet reflected for Geo’s default gradient palette. Additionally, when a classic story is changed to the ODE, some colours in the ODE story may be considered a customized colour as these colours are modified to stay aligned with Fiori Horizon colors. In this case, click “restore” in the styling panel in order to follow customizations specific in Story Preferences.

Table Widget: New Keyboard Shortcuts

In this release we are introducing new keyboard shortcuts for navigating within a table, including drilling into hierarchies, and opening hyperlinks from table cells.

Here is a list and overview of the new keyboard shortcuts:

  • Horizontal Scrolling

    • Page by Page

      • ALT/OPT + Page Up/Down (Windows/MAC)

    • Right End / Left end

      • ALT/OPT + End/First (Windows/MAC)

  • CTR + SHIFT + SPACE - Select all cells

  • F6, SHIFT + F6 – Next/Previous tab group

  • Hierarchy Drill

    • +/- to expand/collapse hierarchy

    • F4

  • Space triggers hyperlink

    • If the focused cell contains a link, indicate “active” (pressed) state on key down. Trigger the link on release of the Space key. ESC or Shift will cancel the pressed state and a subsequent release of the Space key has no effect.

Data Modeling

CAGR, SMA and YoY Formulas now Supported by the New Model Type

The following time-based formulas are now made available in the New Model:

  • Compound Annual Growth Rate (CAGR)

  • Simple Moving Average (SMA)

  • Year over Year (YoY)

The new formulas enable these calculations to be created in a simpler way as it removes the requirement for modelers to create numerous calculated measures to achieve the same result.

Enterprise Planning

Offer "Redistribute Equally" Recommendation for the Planning Panel

The ability to redistribute values equally is now available as an automatic recommendation in the planning panel.

Data Actions – Setting Source and Target Hierarchies for Cross Model Copying

In the cross-model copy step of data actions, users can now choose specific source and target hierarchies to be used when mapping dimensions together.

Commenting – Ability to Disable Data-Point Commenting on a Table Widget

Users can choose to enable or disable data point comments in a table by turning on or off a dedicated option in the builder panel. The commenting option will be set to default OFF for a new table. Data point comment requests will only be sent when comment is toggled on. For users who use both dimension comment and data point comments, this option can reduce the cost of commenting requests.

Microsoft Office Integration

Custom Sorting

Custom sorting is now possible using the member selector for all dimensions – including versions. Please note that is limited to flat presentations/lists at this time.
