Some time ago two enthusiasts from SAP - dj.adams.sap and jens.haley started a journey that aimed to open the SAP documentation for your feedback through the GitHub processes. That journey was challenging, but the results are more than satisfying. Starting from no customer feedback at all long long time ago, passing through anonymous statements whether the document is helpful or not, to reaching a state where you can directly send your feedback, contribute to the improvement of the documentation, or start a discussion with the author.

In the beginning, the initiative was adopted by only few products, but gradually more and more documentations were added, and now Identity Authentication has also joined the family of the products that are open for your feedback.

How it works?

Don't worry, all you need is a GitHub account. When you have one, there are two options:

Provide Feedback

You have a question or there's something in the text that doesn't seem quite right to you.

  1. Open the Identity Authentication page and choose the Feedback tab>Create issue.

  2. Provide your feedback in the form of an issue and submit it.

We will get in touch with you.

Edit on GitHub

You feel that you can phrase the text better, or you have additional information that can be added.

  1. Open the Identity Authentication page and choose the Feedback tab>Edit page.

  2. Choose the pencil icon to edit the file.

  3. Make your changes in the Edit file section. Add an additional description or comment to your suggestion and propose the change.

  4. Create a pull request.

If it's your first pull request, you will be asked to sign the Developer’s Certificate of Origin (DCO).

The same as with the Feedback, we will get in touch with you. If the changes are accepted, your proposals will be merged on GitHub and republished to SAP Help Portal.
