Providing highly secured features to our customers has always been a top priority for SAP Cloud Appliance Library. Therefore, we have migrated to a publisher verified application to establish a more secure communication channel to the Microsoft Azure account where you provision SAP Cloud Appliance Library workloads. The impact of this change is that the owners of some of the existing SAP Cloud Appliance Library accounts linked to Microsoft Azure subscriptions need to give consent to use the new application.
This procedure takes just a few clicks provided that you have the required permissions for the configured Microsoft Azure subscription to accept the consent dialog, so we highly recommend to upgrade your account soon.
Which hyperscaler accounts does this change affect?
This change impacts only
existing SAP Cloud Appliance Library accounts linked to Microsoft Azure subscriptions with authorization types “Standard Authorization” or “Extended Authorization for Kubernetes Cluster”.

Customers who create new SAP Cloud Appliance Library accounts linked to Microsoft Azure after October
24, 2022 only need to follow
our standard procedure. No additional action items are required to be able to create and manage your SAP Cloud Appliance Library workloads in Microsoft Azure.
I already have an SAP Cloud Appliance Library account linked to Microsoft Azure. How will this change impact my activities?
Customers with existing SAP Cloud Appliance Library accounts linked to Microsoft Azure
won’t be able to create new appliances after October 24, 2022 unless they follow the upgrade procedure described in
this document to authorize our newly created publisher verified Microsoft Azure application.
The authorization steps have to be completed – otherwise only operations on existing SAP Cloud Appliance Library workloads in Microsoft Azure will be possible.
After the procedure has been completed successfully, you will be able to create SAP Cloud Appliance Library workloads in Microsoft Azure again.
You need to go through the account upgrade procedure
before January 21, 2023. If you haven’t made the
required upgrade on your account by then, your SAP Cloud Appliance Library account linked to Microsoft Azure will switch automatically to Inactive status
preventing you from operating your existing workloads via SAP Cloud Appliance Library.
