For those who have been craving for undo&redo support in the Work Zone page builder, now you have it!

With its 2211 release, Work Zone's Overview Page will be replaced with Workpage. (applicable to both SAP Build Work Zone & SAP SuccessFactors Work Zone)

Much more than just a renaming, this is actually a new implementation with several key feature enhancements. Let's take a closer look:

Usability Enhancements

In-Place Editing

Previously, when the user clicks on the edit button, a full page refresh will happen, taking the user to the page builder; upon quitting the page builder, another full page refresh miraculously takes the user back to where she was. This disruptive experience has now come to an end! The page builder will always open and close in-place. No page refresh!

Undo&Redo

You could also see the two buttons in the screenshot above.

Drag&Drop

You can drag&drop a widget to reposition it. This experience has been enhanced with better preview and animation.

Sticky Header

When the page is too long, the header section sticks at the top of the screen so that the Cancel/Save/Publish buttons and page option toggles are always reachable.

Tile and Cards

The new Workpage builder comes with much better support for Tiles and Cards to be added onto the page. Here's how the new Widget Picker looks like:

If you click on "Tiles", you could select multiple tiles in one go and add them onto the page.

Also notice that the "Applications" widget is now removed from the widget picker since it can only contain one tile and is fully covered by the new way of adding tiles. (The widget will continue to be available for existing pages which already contain an instance of it)

If you click on "Cards", you can then see all the cards listed. The previous experience (simply listing all the cards below the widgets) was a nightmare since you always have to scroll down a lot before the first card can be seen.

You may have sensed it: the Tiles and Cards are now being treated more symmetrically/in a more unified way. In the future, they will be unified into Business Applications, as just two types of Visualizations with different responsive behaviors on the page.

Work Zone, Workspace, Workpage

The above are just the beginning of a series of innovations on the Workpage builder being a powerful No-Code tool. And Workpage is now brought onto the center of the stage.

That makes it even clearer what Work Zone really is. It is a product that empowers the employees to create business-aware contents and to engage with each other and with business (via those user-created contents), so as to increase productivity and agility.

Workpage is exactly the entity that incarnates these user-created, business-aware contents, while Workspace defines boundaries of those contents and serves as the anchor of access control. Together, they shape a Work Zone where people engage around contents.
