That’s a wrap! Three weeks ago, we welcomed 1,015 industry professionals to sunny San Diego and  nearly 100 virtually for our annual SAP for Utilities event.  It was a great few days of learning, reconnecting and collaborating.  The event kicked off with a beautiful day and 137 golfers at Torrey Pines Golf Course for our customer appreciation event.

The next two days were jammed packed as SAP for Utilities 2022 had so much to offer - thought provoking keynotes, customer led deep dive sessions, innovation and demos at our booth and forward-thinking content in the SAP Innovation Lounge.

It was great to see the diversity on the keynote stage with a truly impressive lineup!  We heard from several SAP leaders and customers like Duke, Sierra Nevada, Southwest Water, American Water, Essential Utilities, MUD, SCE, Centuri Group, Avangird. And had some inspiring fireside chats with author Rishad Tobaccowala and seven-time grand slam Champion Venus Williams.

The breakout content was very well attended with many of the sessions reaching standing room capacity. Majority of the track sessions were led by customers (70%) and the event also featured an SAP Innovation Lounge which highlighted forward thinking content led by SAP.  In addition, we were excited to have 5 customer roundtables as part of SAP’s Customer Connect Center.  Content covered topics like cloud strategy with RISE, Distributed Energy Resources, E-mobility, Cloud for Energy, Customer Excellence, AI, Enterprise Planning and S/4HANA Finance and Supply Chain.

On Tuesday morning we recognized some of our amazing customers with our annual SAP Excellence in Utility Awards.  There were a lot of excellent nominations and this years’ award recipients were:

Utility of the Year LE – Duke Energy

Utility of the Year Midsize – Navajo Tribal Utility Authority

Excellence in Operations – Veolia NA

Excellence in Customer Service – NiSource

Purpose Driven Award – Marc Rosson from Snohomish County Public Utility District

The SAP booth space was very well attended where we brought the Intelligent Enterprise to life thru our innovative and dynamic solution demos.  We also featured some fun elements with our race wall and 3D halofan images.

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us as a speaker, sponsor, or attendee. The team is already planning for 2023 and hope to see everyone next year in Chicago, October 9-11!
