Users can now rank charts on multiple dimensions. This includes:

  • Rank All Dimensions Individually: Allows users to apply the same rank across all dimensions individually
  • Rank per Dimension Separately: Allows users to apply a different rank per dimension

Additionally, several improvements have been made to Rank and Sort:

  • Sort on measure is now preserved when removing a rank on a dimension(s)
  • Sort on a dimension is now persevered when adding additional dimension(s) to a visualization that has a rank applied

Please note that this feature is only available in the Optimized Story Experience. To learn more about Optimized Story Experience, check out this blog post by Anna Burkhardt.

      Dear Megan,

Thank you for the blog.  Multiple dimension ranking is definitely a step forwards.  I notice that this is only available in the Optimized Story Experience and this begs the question whether the general direction of the road map is to add all or most functionalities to the OSE?

My other question is what is the future of geomaps/geovisualizations as there been very little in the roadmap regarding this functionality and I notice it is not yet available in the new model.

Please let me know if it would be more appropriate to open a community question for either of these questions that your blog provoked.

      Regards

      Hi James,

Yes that is correct. New Features will be made available exclusively on the Optimized Story Experience as it is the strategic direction for stories within SAC. We are currently in the process of closing the gaps within the OSE. It is recommended to reference the official documentation within SAC (HERE - 2022.15) to see which features are now supported and the External Roadmap Explorer (HERE) to see the plan for supporting other features.

In terms of the New Model Type and Geo Visualization, I would refer to the External Roadmap Explorer to see when it will be supported (HERE).

      Regards,

      Tunir
