Hi Yogananda Muthaiah ,
Thanks for sharing blog to get insights on manual patch & release upgrade for HANA cloud. Just a button click away to perform such maintenance activities looks very great feature. In case DB does not comes up or upgrade issues , what is path forward.

Thanks for reading the blog completely end to end.
In case DB does not comes up or upgrade issues , it will roll back the new versions and be back with current version and Notification Icon will appear back with upgrade or patch is available. The alert of any failure will be notified to BTP - SAP HANA Cloud Administrator with your sub account details.
Hi Yogananda Muthaiah
great news. Having the possibility to chose between applying a patch w/o changing the QRC and upgrading to a new QRC is a big step forward.
I have two questions:
Thanks and regards,
Alexander
Hey Alexander,
we are very happy to share that the features have reached the customer landscapes. They are providing a big value as it will help our customers to keep systems and landscapes aligned.
On your questions:
Greetings
Thomas
Hey,
Is SAP going to provide an CF CLI command for patching/upgrading an SAP HANA Cloud instance ?If yes, can you, please, point to documentation?
Thanks,
Ilana
Hi Yogananda Muthaiah . Thanks for the blog post. Could you please add a clarification on the step-wise update vs direct update? You say "you can select first, Apply Patch and later Upgrade as Sequential step". Is it the recommended to do the sequential way and first apply all patches and then upgrade to a newer QRC version or is there no issue at all upgrading from an outdated QRC to the latest one without applying patches first. Thx, Tom
Tom Kiemes
Thanks Yogananda Muthaiah . Ok, in order to avoid any potential issue with skipping patches, we are going sequentially. Does this also apply when going from QRC 1 to QRC 3? Should we rather upgrade to QRC 2 before, even though we could directly go from QRC 1 to 3? That is at least an example you have showcased on your "part 1" blog.
Thanks Tom Kiemes once again
When upgrading from QRC 1 to QRC 3, we will consider the latest available version/build # for upgrade (shortcut process) and if we go step by step (QRC 2 and QRC 3).. it just takes some time to complete the upgrade ( no shortcut 🙂 ).
Hi Yogananda Muthaiah,
Thanks for putting together the detailed post! One question I have is how integrations with HANA Cloud would be impacted with the upgrade without restart option. For example, if a customer is using SDI to replicate data to the HANA Cloud instance, and they perform an NZDT upgrade, would there be any concern about the replication being impacted? Based on this resource (https://help.sap.com/docs/HANA_CLOUD/9ae9104a46f74a6583ce5182e7fb20cb/c26e42e6a7a4411191441c8d48fd9b11.html?q=upgrades) it seems that is should not be such a concern, but am curious what your thoughts are.
Warm Regards,
