The Hack2Build initiative from SAP supports partners to bring together the creativity and speed of prototyping by the partners in just 7 days. The Partners get to work on an identified issue based on customer needs and showcase a working prototype to a panel of Senior Executives. As the name suggests, there is a continuity of engagement beyond the hackathon phase. This is where partners are encouraged to move to the ‘Build phase’, to develop their market ready solution. This blog depicts the successful journey of one of our Hack2Build partners from prototype, to build and take it to market stages.
The Hack2Build on SAP Workflow management concluded in October 2021. Refer the winning applications in this previous blog. Wipro, a global strategic SAP partner, one of the Winners of the Hack2Build SAP Workflow management initiative was keen to pursue their efforts beyond just the 'hack phase', to further develop and make it customer ready for adoption. Wipro’s SAP Digital Innovation Team was supported by SAP Co-Innovation Lab, SAP Industry Cloud ecosystem and other SAP Experts, with the necessary coaching services to compliment Wipro’s effort to build on the prototype.
Currently the Energy & Utility companies are dealing with ad-hoc process for handling onboarding of prosumers with manual solutions that are difficult to track and trace, providing very little visibility into the overall status and incurring process delays.
As part of the Hack2build, Wipro prototyped the prosumer onboarding workflow with the KPI reporting. In the next phase, the Prosumer Onboarding journey for green energy prosumers was enhanced with Prosumer onboarding tracker application. The Workflow runs through a set of review and verification steps with defined approvers, tracking feedback, which updates history and supports storing documentation. The entire prosumer onboarding registration process can be triggered without needing any modification to standard SAP.
The Prosumer Onboarding solution offers fully customisable workflow management solution built on SAP Business Technology Platform to automate various activities from the point when a customer evinces interest to be a prosumer, by following the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) namely validations, financial viability, site readiness and suitability checks, reviews, and approvals. The solution offers Process flexibility giving business to add and remove approver steps without coding. All this leads to an improved prosumer onboarding experience.
