How to Use Standard Text for Text Determination in Sales

This blog describes how to enable the standard text for text determination, using the sales document header as an example. As a result, when a sales document is created, the system copies a predefined standard text to the target text (in this example, internal note).

Creating Standard Text

  1. Open the Maintain Standard Texts app.

To access this app, business role ‘SAP_BR_BUSINESS_PROCESS_SPEC’ or a role containing business catalog ‘SAP_CORE_BC_SCR_TXT_PC’ must be assigned to your user.

  1. Create a standard text (ZSALES_HEADER).

Configuring Text Determination Procedure

  1. Open the configuration activity Set Up Text Determination for Sales Document Header in your configuration environment (the screenshot from the Manage Your Solution app).
  2. Under the access sequence for text type Internal note (TX01), define an access (90) that assigns the standard text (ZSALES_HEADER) as the source text for text determination. Make sure that the text type (that is, text ID) is set to ST for the standard text.Note: The standard text takes effect in this example only when the previous access sequence records don’t have related source text.Text Determination in Sales Document

Create a sales order in the Manage Sales Orders app. After you fill in a sold-to party, you can see the standard text displayed as Internal note (TX01).
