SAP S/4HANA migration cockpit – Use CSV files to populate staging tables

Hi all,

with SAP S/4HANA Cloud 2208 we released the new feature to use CSV files for uploading data. This is especially for users that are familiar in creating CSV files.

To get a first impression how this is integrated in our migration cockpit, please check this short video (available on our Data Migration Landing page help.sap.com/S4_CE_DM – section Video Library.

Besides, the KBA 3210687 explains more details and contains a How-to Guide.

      Hi Sybille

It sounds really interesting with the possibility to use .CSV files.
Do you know when/if this feature will also be available for OnPremise?

      Best Regards,

      Gitte Greibe.

      Hi Sybille

      Thanks.

Do you know if it will be possible to implement this feature without implementing the whole FPS (feature pack stack)?

Maybe there is a collection of SAP notes which we can implement without upgrading our system to the newest FPS?

      Best Regards,

      Gitte.

      Hello Gitte,

there is no possibility to have this implemented by yourself - no notes collection.

You need to upgrade to the next release.

      best regards,

      Sybille

      Hi Sybille,

why is that in the short video , once the zip file of csv sheet is uploaded , it is being validated and transferred to staging table automatically but while testing it myself , i had to manually select  validate data and transfer to staging table option.

as per KBA once zip folder is uploaded , that task is taken care by cockpit. i am little confused.

      regards,

      saurabh shrigadi

      Hi Saurabh,

when you download the CSV zip - then you fill the single CSV files that you need (all mandatory CSV files need to be filled) - zip all your filled CSV files to upload - and do not change the naming of the CSV files.

If you go this way - the CSV folder will be created automatically, the single CSV files will be assigned to the correct technical data structure, then the validation takes place and data is transferred  automatically to the staging tables.

If you use other names, or upload a single CSV file, you must start the validation and the transfer to staging tables manually.

      Hope that clarifies,

      regards, Sybille
