Adopting SAP Business Technology Platform components through the SAP Enterprise Support Advisory Council
Companies today are undergoing digital business transformation where flexibility, resilience and independence are essential. SAP Business Technology Platform (SAP BTP) provides that flexibility and independence by supporting integration, conversion of data to value, and extensibility for
SAP and third-party application and data resources.
Organizations work with a complex landscape of on-premise and cloud systems, and extensive partner ecosystems. Each system uses its own unique context-relevant data models, business logic, and process definitions. Connecting all these business applications, processes, and data requires companies to integrate their IT ecosystem.
With SAP BTP, customers can overcome these challenges by building, integrating, and extending business applications with a combination of technologies for database and data management, analytics, application development and integration, and intelligent technologies. This allows customers to respond to challenges quickly and with agility, using one or more solutions and business-centric services.
Previously through the SAP Enterprise Support Advisory Council (ESAC) program, we have provided several assets to SAP Enterprise Support customers to ramp-up their knowledge in BTP components. Recently we released the Extension Suite Black-belt Learning Program through the SAP Learning Hub. The Extension Black Belt is an enabler program from SAP to become a subject matter expert in SAP’s technology and strategy. Through the program customers can learn about the various capabilities of the SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP) and discover best practices to effectively support customers’ digital transformation.
This followed on from the success of our SAP Integration Suite Learning Program where over 100 customers have received a digital badge for completing the Learning Program demonstrating their knowledge of SAP Integration topics.
Also, for SAP Intelligent Robotic Process Automation, customers can design and orchestrate software robots that automate business processes and with that in mind, after pilot through the ESAC program, SAP have created an Expert Guided Implementation (EGI) service to show customers how to build a robot as a proof of concept for using SAP Intelligent Robotic Process Automation. Please see here for details.
Now, we want to help customers to ramp-up and adopt various components of SAP BTP. So if customers wish to start their adoption journey, we will work to “co-innovate” through our various workstreams, where we engage customers step-by-step on a topic, from learning sessions to practical exercises, with follow-up of our SAP experts until their learning objectives are applied.
At present we have the below workstreams available for participation for customers:
CQC IFM service for SAP Ariba
The Continuous Quality Check Interface Management (CQC IFM) service helps SAP Enterprise Support customers to optimize the return on their investment in SAP cloud applications by investigation and analysis of specific interfaces. In this workstream we want to pilot the service for SAP Ariba Operational Procurement interfaces with SAP ECC or S/4 HANA on-premise systems enabled with the Cloud Integration Gateway (CIG). Through the service, customers will receive:
- Investigation on specific interfaces with known or suspected performance, stability, or response time issues
- Recommendations for the specified interfaces to provide an optimal interface configuration
SAP Process Automation
In this workstream customers will learn how to use this new tool, especially how to create workflow, decision management and task automation. By joining this workstream customers will have a chance to experience the SPA (including both workflow management and Intelligent Robotic Process Automation) by implementing an example use case with us.
SAP HANA Cloud Monitoring
The purpose of this workstream is to empower customers with the knowledge of SAP HANA Cloud capabilities as DBaaS, demonstrate the key features available in the latest quarterly release of the tool and show the benefits of using the administration tools for DB Monitoring.
More specifically, we will discuss how exactly SAP HANA Cloud is different from SAP HANA on premise, and what are the key technologies in SAP HANA Cloud. Then we will go into detail on the administration tools like SAP HANA Cloud Central, SAP HANA Cockpit, SAP HANA Cloud Database Explorer, explain the Alert Notification system within SAP HANA Cloud, Workload Management and Cloud Foundry. Also, we will help customers in deploying, upgrading and configuration of an SAP HANA Cloud database.
SAP HANA Cloud Modeling
The purpose of this workstream is to empower customers with modeling in SAP HANA Cloud. After the workstream, customers will know of calculation view usage and design in SAP HANA Cloud utilizing the SAP Business Application studio. The sessions will include topics such as an introduction to SAP HANA Cloud and SAP BTP, usage of BAS and utilization of SQLscript. Customers will get an introduction to Cloud Foundry and calculation views or implementing functions using Cloud Application Programming Model (CAP). Moreover, best practices for models optimization and for Management and Administration will be also shared.
SAP Launchpad service with SAP Mobile Start app integration
SAP Mobile Start is a native app that serves as the mobile entry point to SAP’s business applications and content, providing users with a consumer-grade experience. SAP Mobile Start app rely on the SAP Launchpad service on SAP BTP. In this workstream we will show how to configure these two services so that customers’ end-users will be able to access Fiori apps from their mobile devices in order to consume the data from their on-premise ERP system(s). Onboarding of selected users will be offered as well.
SAP SuccessFactors Work Zone
SAP SuccessFactors Work Zone provides human resource-focused templatized content and easy access to areas within SAP SuccessFactors HXM Suite on the SAP Work Zone solution. In SAP SuccessFactors Work Zone, teams and departments can effectively communicate and engage with employees via customizable and guided experiences that integrate with different products. Through this workstream we will help customers to adopt and configure SAP SuccessFactors Work Zone and integrate this service with customers’ SuccessFactors solution so that customers employees will be able to consume content in the SAP SuccessFactors Work Zone.
If you have any questions or if you want to join us in this journey, please feel free to leave your comment and contact us via esac@sap.com.
