What’s New in SAP Analytics Cloud Release 2022.15

SAP Analytics Cloud is a single solution for business intelligence (BI), augmented and predictive analytics, and enterprise planning with the power of artificial intelligence and machine learning technology. It helps everyone in your organization make fast, confident decisions.

This blog post introduces the features of the SAP Analytics Cloud 2022.15 release available for SAP Analytics Cloud FastTrack customers. For SAP Analytics Cloud Quarterly Release Cycle (QRC) customers, this release and its features will be available as part of the QRC Q3 2022 release. View the QRC release schedule here.

System Administration and Technical Requirements

Although not required, you may upgrade to the latest SAP Analytics Cloud agent version 1.0.355 to take advantage of all data acquisition types.

The agent’s minimum version remains at 1.0.75, with the following exceptions:

  • Version 1.0.99 for SAP ERP/SQL Database
  • Version 1.0.91 for SAP Universe (UNX)
  • Version 1.0.233 for SAP Business Warehouse (BW)
  • Version 1.0.235 for SAP HANA View
  • Version 1.0.248 for File Server

For more information, see System Requirements and Technical Prerequisites.

Release Highlights

  • Dashboard & Story Design
  • Administration & Service Management

Data Integration

Ability to create import connection to BW using SNC and corresponding port 48NN

This new feature provides the ability to create a Secure Network connection (JCo connection) to BW using SAP Cloud Agent.

This allows customers to establish an encrypted connection between the Cloud agent and BW system, which increases the quality of privacy protection.

Dashboard & Story Design

Optimized Story Experience Feature Updates

These are the set of features that are now supported in the Optimized Story Experience.

Optimized Story Experience (ODE / OVM)

  • Data Access Language Support for Static Member Filters Includes:
  • Story/Page/Local Filters*

Optimized View Mode (OVM)

  • Performance Optimization for BW Data Models
  • Dynamic Image (Includes External Filters and Undo/Redo)

This is a list of features delivered for the Optimized Story Experience in 2022 Q3 QRC.

Microsoft Office Integration

Add new columns / rows

New Features that were added in this release are:

  • Adding single or repeating rows to the table.

Note: feature is part of wave 16, which is available to all customers as of July 13

This can be used for structuring the table. Dynamic formulas (and more features) to come in the following wave releases.

Hiding columns/rows

New Features that were added in this release are:

  • Use the Excel hides (rows/columns) feature to hide rows or columns. The hiding is static, i.e., the same row/column is hidden after every navigation, no matter the content.
  • Hidden rows/columns (or rows/columns with height/width 0) are not autofitted.

This feature provides significant value by helping users create asymmetric reports.

Administration & Service Management

Query Analysis while designing a Story

New Features that were added in this release are:

  • Query Information is sent from a data source in getResponse
  • Visible in Edit Mode Only
  • Only visual when backend runtime per widget is > 1s

The below the flow of pictures from the Right to the left helps us understand the optimization systems used once data is retrieved from the backend HANA model.

      Hi Dharmik,

Thanks for providing an update with regards to release 2022.15. Is the Query Analysis featured limited to SAP HANA Live models only?

Furthermore, the links point to an internal SAP page which I don't have access to. Is the wave schedule for the Microsoft Office integration also publically available?

      Kind regards,
