We pick up speed delivering cloud innovations into the market. In the June pricing council a new public cloud solution received approval to be released to customers.

SAP Order and Delivery Scheduling went into general availability on June 15th without a day of delay. Order and Delivery Scheduling belongs to a larger suite of applications under the name Predictive Planning and Inventory Orchestration. It helps retail supply chain planners to build order and delivery schedules more efficiently, with greater flexibility, better outcomes and simpler integration with adjacent systems. From consolidation of products with similar attributes in scheduling groups to the generation and real-time updating of supply networks, the solution brings automation to traditionally manual and time consuming processes. Once delivery patterns are defined, with flexibility to manage for exceptions (e.g. public holidays, …), and schedules are produced, embedded AI capabilities help optimize them enabling more on-time deliveries and lower inventory levels and associated costs. Direct integration is available to SAP Predictive Replenishment - another solution planned for Q3 - as well as to the S/4HANA Retail backend. Here the outcome of SAP Order and Delivery Scheduling will help synchronize supply chain planning and execution by providing calendar entries. For our customers we expect:

  • Improved on-time delivery performance with the calculation of consistent schedules for all supply chain systems

  • Reduced inventory costs by allowing more on-time orders and deliveries thus reducing the required inventory levels

  • Improved productivity of supply chain workers by automating manual order and delivery scheduling activities
