Introduction:-Technical field name of document status is BSTAT that is mainly found in BKPF table which stores document status. We can find below standard document status.

2. Standard document status - BKPF-BSTAT

General Information

Posted FI document generally updates at least two tables 1. accounting document header table BKPF and 2. Accounting document line-item table BSEG. In S4HANA, it also updates ACDOCA table. We can view GL line-item reports from t-codes FBL3N & FBL3H as these t-codes read data from BSEG but not from ACDOCA table.

Document Status with U Posting in General Ledger Only

This document covers document status with U status only. Any FI posted documents cannot be found in BSEG table if document status is U. As this is not available in BSEG table we cannot see in GL line-item reports in t-codes FBL3N & FBL3H either. U status document does not have entry view.

Document status with U can be found in ACDOCA table and GL line item can also be found in FAGLL03 and FAGLL03H. Document status with U has general ledger view only.

Transactions for document status U

  1. Intra-company CO transactions e.g., KB11 and KB21, CO allocation

  2. Foreign currency valuations posted with FAGL_FCV or using the FIORI app “posted currency adjustment”. We can avail in BSEG table with SAP note 2326546.

  3. Asset Depreciation Posting run – AFAB and AFABN

  4. COGS splitting

  5. Posting using BAPI_ACC_DOCUMENT_POST (see note 2591291)

  6. Many more

Conclusion: - As a consultant we need to be cautious while developing reports and so on by using table BSEG because documents with U status are not available in BSEG table. Therefore, reports may be incomplete.
