Back on the Road – SMB Innovation Summit Orlando

Two years of worldwide restrictions due to the pandemic situation landed down face-to-face events everywhere. People got used to talk to a camera and connect remotely. So when you have the chance to revisit that ‘normal life’, expectations are that you will find all of that terrifying or at least very strange, right? Not exactly.

On May 24-26 I attended SMB Innovation Summit, in Orlando, FL. A two years hiatus set all of us apart of one of the finest SAP events. And suddenly I was there, in sunny Orlando, at OMNI Resort at ChampionsGate. Impecable organization has followed, as usual. In the first day, early in the morning, I crowded the SAP Integration and Certification Center booth to get started.

What followed was nice and extraordinary at the same time. People that I have not had a chance to meet in person for at least 3 years now (since the last event edition back in 2019) approached to greet me. Handshakes, hugs, large smiles. Satisfaction was in the face of everybody for being all together again. Strangely, it seemed to be not real that we were distant for so long time. It was like crossing a time warp, forgetting for a moment all that we have passed in the recent years. It’s really true that technology has brought us closer.

The event counted on more than 700 attendees coming from all corners of Americas, Europe, and even Asia and Midle-East. SAP Partners, product owners, developers, first-time visitors, the public was all focused on SMB segment. The keynotes covered SAP solutions roadmap, SAP Business Technology Platform, marketing in this new world and gave room to SAP S/4HANA Cloud as well. The motivational pitch was offered by Jim Lawless, British’s deepest freediver, on his Taming Tigers speach.

The SMB Innovation Summit is happening in three locations worldwide: Orlando (May 24-26), Manila (June 7-8) and Dublin (June 14-16).
