Who is Mynaric and what do they do?
Mynaric AG is a laser communication scale-up that develops and manufactures laser products for high data rate and long-distance wireless data transmission between moving objects. With their products, they deliver a critical building block for secure broadband internet anywhere on earth.
What were Mynaric’s challenges and why did they decide to go for SAP S/4HANA Cloud?
As an innovative and fast-growing scale-up that is striving for international expansion, Mynaric decided to go for SAP S/4HANA Cloud to set the foundation for achieving their ambitious goals – and they successfully implemented the solution in only 6 months.
They needed to tackle three major challenges:
First of all, they had to meet the needs for serial production of laser communication equipment for mass market delivery. Therefore, one of their most important goals was to move their production from a single-unit production model to a serial production model.
Secondly, they quickly needed a production process that was compliant with standards for aerospace and defense.
And last but not least, they had to prepare their finance and accounting department for international expansion.
Before the implementation of SAP S/4HANA Cloud, Mynaric did not have an end-to-end system for their processes – they were still highly based on paper and spreadsheets. To meet the company’s future needs for business growth, they knew that something had to change. This is why Mynaric was looking for a new ERP solution, including the expert support for a quick implementation. Mynaric knew that they would highly benefit from integrated processes with real-time insights into finance, procurement and production to address all challenges listed above.
