Dear Community Members,

Amazing news! Since its general availability three months ago, SAP Process Automation has been a HOT 🔥 topic. It’s hardly a surprise since it addresses the high demand in the market for no-code tools. Business users like me and many of you want to be empowered to automate the tedious and repetitive tasks that make our days dull, extend some of the standard business processes or define net-new ones and we want easy ways to do this across lines of business.

Along with that, our Free Tier service plan available on the SAP Business Technology Platform has also been #trending because it offers a chance to test our solution in a fully productive environment without having to pay.

Coming from a marketing and communications background with no coding experience, I decided to start training on the free tier too. I’m becoming a citizen developer because the simplified user experience is really compelling to me – and I am already automating SAP and non-SAP processes, and extending standard business processes using drag-and-drop modules, very exciting! In the past, I never would have thought that possible, but now it’s no problem.

Who is a Citizen Developer, and how can you become one?

Anyone can be a citizen developer. All you need is a deep understanding of the process or activity you want to digitize, and a willingness to invest about three days for training and hands-on building. During SAP Sapphire 2022, we announced new capabilities for our product portfolio as well as our learning journey, Low-Code/No-Code Applications for Citizen Developers. This is where you want to start if you are new to SAP LCNC tools. The journey covers a wide range of conceptual lessons on these tools, complemented by hands-on practice exercises.

You can find out what citizen development is and become a certified citizen developer at the end by taking an exam. You’ll walk away proud with an official title and a certification valid for five years: “SAP Certified Citizen Developer Associate – Low-code/No-code Applications and Automations” 🎓 🎉 📜

What can you expect from the SAP Process Automation unit?

The Learning Journey includes a four hours unit on SAP Process Automation: “Build Your First Process With SAP Process Automation.” You’ll start from the basics, e.g., how to create your first process project to deploying and running your business process successfully. The unit also dives into the powerful capabilities such as the process builder, how to define automation or decisions, and process visibility which allows you to monitor and measure your process performance.

Our team of instructors provides interactive chunks of easier-to-follow videos, guides, graphics, and quizzes designed to set you up for continuous learning with the tool. So, why wait? Join the Community of SAP Process Automation no-coders and start your journey to becoming a citizen developer today!
