Off Cycle Increases through MDF objects in Employee Central
In this recording we show how to build an Off Cycle Increase process with an MDF Object in SuccessFactors, including :
- Adding specific auto-populate and custom validation rules
- Creating complex math formulas
- Adding different approval workflows based on the proposed Percentage.
Once the MDF is set up we can build an Integration Center job to send approved off cycle increases directly to recurring pay components in Comp Info (based on IF conditions too if we want). Please find a demo of the Integration Center here : https://blogs.sap.com/2021/03/02/integration-center-demo-for-the-compensation-module/ (Please note : there is currently a possibility to publish MDF data back to Job Info directly (On Save) without going through an Integration Center scheduled job but there is a limitation for Comp Info preventing a similar design : https://launchpad.support.sap.com/#/notes/2562069)
For another way to run off cycle increases outside of the Comp Info portlet of EC, please see this post : https://blogs.sap.com/2022/03/05/off-cycle-increases-through-performance-compensation-integrated-worksheets/

Xavier-
Thanks for sharing this! Very creative.
Is the purpose of this blog to explain possibilities, or is this to address some shortcoming with the EC Compensation Information portlet? Unless I'm missing something, you can do everything in this blog in the standard Compensation Information portlet.
Thanks!
Hi Brandon,
As much as Comp Info is indeed the SAP leading practice to manage Off Cycle increases there are also many other fields that Compensation Administrators may want to display to planners in an Off Cycle process that Comp Info isn’t best suited to display (for example the Guidelines field in my recording).
Also this demo can be useful for non-EC customers who want an alternative to the Performance-Compensation integrated forms to manage off cycle increases.
Finally one of the purposes of this recording is to show Compensation Administrators and partner consultants how easy it is to build complex math expressions, auto-populate and validation rules in MDF objects since they are so useful in getting data to and from Compensation worksheets.
All the best,
Xavier
